Registering for a User Account

If you are an anonymous user (a user without an AP Archive account), your capabilities are limited to performing searches and viewing detailed information for individual stories. To gain access to more AP Archive features, register for a user account.

In addition, users of other AP websites can use the first User Registration page to transfer their existing account information to AP Archive.

Creating a New Account

To register, click the Register link at top right of the home page. Follow the instructions indicated on each registration page:

1. Enter Details. Specify all of the required fields (indicated by *); then click Next at bottom. The Registration Status area indicates the registration page that you are currently on.

If you do not need to register your account or re-enter your account details, perform ONE of the following actions using the links at top:

Click..	If you...
Enter it here	Already have your activation code. You will advance to the Activation page and complete your registration.
Have it resent	Need to resend your activation code to you via e-mail.
Clicking here	Transfer your account information to AP Archive. You will gain the ability to log on to AP Archive with your existing login account.

2. Confirm. Review your contact information. If all of the information is correct, click Submit. If any information is incorrect, click Edit to make the necessary changes.

When you click Submit, a confirmation e-mail is sent to the account entered in the Enter Details page. The e-mail contains your new AP Archive user name (your e-mail address) and the activation code needed for the Activate page.

3. Activate. Enter your e-mail address and activation code in the boxes provided. Then, click Activate to register your account.

Success. You will receive this screen only if you entered a valid e-mail address and confirmation code on the Activate page. Click log in to log on to AP Archive.

Transferring an Existing User Account

To use your current AP website login to access AP Archive, click Clicking here at top of the Enter Details page. The Account Verification page opens.

Enter your User Name and Password in the boxes provided and click Login. If your login credentials and organization are authenticated, you will be automatically logged into AP Archive.
