The F-11 has wings that are set at a conventional angle at takeoff and landing. While in high altitude flight the pilot sweeps them back nd the plane can zoom at three times the speed of sound.

Then undermined by an excavation for a new building and heavy rains, they slide into the street and crumble into ruins. The long anticipated 54-mile Freedom March from Selma to Alabama's capital of Montgomery finally gets under way led by Rev. Martin Luther King. Twice before the marchers had been turned back by State troops. Now they march under a Federal Court Order and with the protection of federalized National Guard units and regular troops. No incidents of consequence occur during the early stages of the non-violent protest march which hopes to gather additional supporters along the way and culminate in presentation of a petition to Governor Wallace at the state capital.

An uneasy calm now prevails in the devastated area as 1.000 Guards remain on patrol and curfew has been imposed.

"Operation Piranha," one of the largest operations yet attempted by the US in Vietnam is shown in graphic detail. An amphibious task group of the United States 7th fleet sends an assault force of marines ashore to trap Vietcong troops on the Bantagan Peninsula where South Vietnamese troops have blocked all exits. It is the beginning of a week-long operation which sees some of the fiercest hand-to-hand engagements of the war in which over 200 Vietcong are wiped out, but again proves the difficulty of jungle fighting.

But the citizens adapt to the situation somehow, and there will be many stories exchanged on "Where were you in the big blackout of 1965?"
