"We all had a little bit of bad luck but all the same, all the guys lost about a minute with either a crash or mechanical. Well, almost all the guys, except Geraint Thomas is still in a really good place in GC (General Classification). So it's e really close together and now we just need mountains to see some differences."

"It's going to be brutal. I saw the last two days of this three days block. I did a recon (reconstruction) of the stages and its really, really difficult. The first day I didn't see. But it will definitely be a big battle."

Team Sunweb rider Tom Dumoulin spoke to the press on Monday (16th July) on the Tour de France's first rest day in Aix-les-Bains.

Dumoulin currently sits in 15th position in the Tour, two minutes and three seconds behind Belgian leader Greg Van Avermaet.
