"Well here we have a display of Academy memorabilia, Academy of Motion Pictures Arts and Sciences memorabilia, relating to the Oscar show. And so we have 50 Oscars here, 50 Oscars that will actually be given out On March 5th to winners."

"It's quite an arrangement because obviously we had to make sure it's in a secure space, but it's also making sure we're bringing, putting it in a way that people will find it interesting and so there's somethig for everybody. Some people will enjoy seeing all 50 Oscars, some people enjoy learing about the Academy's history and some people enjoy just being able to hold an Oscar for the first time."

"Pretty soon when we do take them to the Kodak. We're going to have our own little red carpet walk by the 50 of them. We've figured out a way to do that nicely, and in they'll go. They'll have their walk down the red carpet. They'll have the experience of the red carpet, into the theatre and then March fifth in the evening, five o'clock on the west coast, eight o'clock in the east coast, they'll be busy."

MEET THE OSCARS
Before the Oscars statuettes are placed in the excited hands of its winners, they will sit in a walk-through exhibition at the Hollywood and Highland Center beginning on Friday, February 10th.
"Well here we have a display of Academy memorabilia," explained Academy President Sid Ganis. "Academy of Motion Pictures Arts and Sciences memorabilia, relating to the Oscar show. And so we have 50 Oscars here, 50 Oscars that will actually be given out On March 5th to winners. To the winners."
The exhibition, "Meet the Oscars: The 50 Golden Statuettes" features Academy Award-related displays, with a gallery of photographs featuring winners from previous ceremonies.
"It's quite an arrangement because obviously we had to make sure it's in a secure space," explained Randy Haberkamp, the Director of Special Projects for the Academy. "But it's also making sure we're bringing, putting it in a way that people will find it interesting and so there's something for everybody. Some people will enjoy seeing all 50 Oscars, some people enjoy learning about the Academy's history and some people enjoy just being able to hold an Oscar for the first time."
After the close of the exhibition on March 3, the Oscars, under heavy security, will make their way to the Kodak Theatre where they will be handed out during the Awards Presentation.

Weighing in at eight-and-a half pounds, each statuette is thirteen-and-a half inches tall and s made of gold-plated titannium, a metal alloy. Academy Awards for outstanding film achievements for 2005 will be presented on 05 March 2006 at the Kodak Theatre in Hollywood.
