1. SOUNDBITE (English) Robert Rodriguez: "It was Frank Miller, whose comic graphic novel that it was based on, so Frank, that's why I really wanted him as a co-director because he just knows this world, he created Sin City and all these characters and the visual look, is all from his books and I just thought, it was beyond cinema - take cinema and make a graphic novel out of it and not turn it into a movie. That would just ruin the book. So I really try to use all the technology and all the different tricks I've learned to try and do what Frank does with a pen and ink so simply in his little studio. It too me a lot to try and emulate that."
2. SOUNDBITE (English) Rosario Dawson: "Well, in some ways actually, I wish I had not seen even a little bit of it and even been a part of it, just so that I could have watched it completely clear of any idea of it but I really am still extremely amazed, profoundly, by how incredible Robert is and what a talent he is for being able to bring this to life the way he has. It really is such a perfect adaptation, that it's mind-boggling that we were in this little room with green screen behind and that's what it ended up looking like. It's magical."
3. SOUNDBITE (English) Rosario Dawson: "Yeah well, I'm supposed to have torn his head off almost, in my excitement and lust to go and kiss him. You know, it's a kind of interesting sort of dynamic between the two of them - they're both very strong, they're both very willful and, you know, he's probably the only person who could get away with even threatening her, let alone backhanding her across the face without being murdered."
4. SOUNDBITE (English) Jessica Alba: "This type of dancing is nothing I have ever really been into. I was really terrified dancing in chaps with the lassoo half-dressed in front of a bunch of people and I had to learn to get over my fear of just stage-fright. I get like a stiff neck and start sweating and breathing shallow and hear my heart beat in my head, so I sort of got over that by the time we started shooting."
5. SOUNDBITE (English) Clive Owen: "Blown away. I'm like a fan of the movie, you know, no vanity of me being in it, regardless of whether I'm in it or not. I sat there and was just blown away. I saw Robert Rodriguez in the cinema after the screening, it was only two days ago and I said 'You're a genius. I don't know how you've done it. You've completely baffled me as to how you've pulled it off. But I think this is ground-breaking cinema.'"

SHOTLIST
1. SOUNDBITE (English) George Lucas/Director, on how "Episode III" compares to Episodes "I" and "II": "I knew this was the one that put all of the pieces together. Where I knew on the first one that people were not going to be excited about me making a movie about a nine year old boy and with the second one they weren't going to be excited about me telling a love story, I knew this is the one that everybody wanted because Darth Vader is in it."
2. SOUNDBITE (English) Rick McCallum/Producer, on the mission of "Episode III": "I mean the real thing is how and why Anakin turns to the dark side, what is this downward spiral about. What has everyone waited thirty years to find out about? That was always the most important thing."
3. SOUNDBITE (English) Ian McDiarmid/Actor, on the film as allegory for current worldwide political tensions: "It chimes for the zeitgeist. That's a sort of coincidence in a way, but no coincidence that George is saying what he's always wanted to say which is basically people shouldn't talk about peace and practise its opposite. They shouldn't tell lies while promoting the truth. It's a good time to say these things, and this film says that and it also shows how easily people can be persuaded to part with their freedom while thinking that they're embracing its opposite."
4. SOUNDBITE (English) Hayden Christensen/Actor, on wearing the Darth Vader suit: "It was exhilarating. Sort of indescribable. But really one of the coolest sensations I think I've ever experienced."
5. SOUNDBITE (English) Hayden Christensen: "What was really neat actually was walking on the set and watching everyone around me take in Vader for the first time and watch their eyes light up with awe and excitement and a glimmer of fear as well. There's a certain respect that they had to pay and lower their heads a bit."
6. SOUNDBITE (English) Lucas, on the technical challenges of "Episode III": "Ultimately for me I had gone through all of the technical exercises of learning how to work in a new medium. This is the one where I got to pay it off. I could put the set of instructions away and just enjoy the process of making the movie. I knew what I was doing. The crew, the cast, everybody knew." 18. Behind-the-scenes b-roll of Lucas working with Christensen
7. SOUNDBITE (English) George Lucas, on the two "Star Wars" TV series: "Well there's two series. One's an animated series which is called 'The Clone Wars' which is about Obi Wan's and Anakin's adventures during the battles of the clone wars. The other one is a live action series which is based on minor characters in the series but none of the major players are in it."
8. SOUNDBITE (English) Lucas, on the possibility of another "Star Wars" trilogy: (Q: "Do you ever see a possibilty of an episode seven, eight or nine?") "No. The story is really about Darth Vader and you start with him as a nine year old and the end dead (laughs)"

23. Anthony Daniels
24. SOUNDBITE: (English) Anthony Daniels, actor: "In 1975 I was working in London's West End and got a call to meet this guy who is coming up, George Lucas, and I said 'no, I don't want to be in a crummy sci-fi movie' and look at this. Thirty years now, I've known this guy, I'm the only person in all of these movies and tonight's film is just terrific."

New York, US 26 May 2005
SHOTLIST
1. SOUNDBITE (English) Mariah Carey: "It's a very nice surprise. I don't know what I expected, but to have this be my sweet 16 is a fantastic thing."
2. SOUNDBITE (English) Mariah Carey: "When people talk to me about the other people that have accomplished this and that are ahead of me, I can't even fathom the fact that I am near those numbers. It's amazing. It's incredible. The fans, this is their moment. Yes, it's my moment, but I want to share it with them because I know they really wanted this and this means a lot to them. They've stuck by me and they are the best. I have the world's best fans."
3. SOUNDBITE (English) Mariah Carey: "I definitely feel like, even before I put the record out, that I've accomplished what I set out to accomplish because I really felt proud of the record. Yes, charts and things like that are amazing and I am blessed to have the success of this record, the way this record is going, the feedback and obviously this number one and stuff, but, if it didn't happen I would still feel like I made a good record and I would still be proud of it."
4. SOUNDBITE (English) Mariah Carey: "It's great. Obviously it's an amazing thing to be number one on the charts. It's never something I could be blaze about because it always has an enormous significance to me. To have this record technically be the biggest record of my career, because what they've said without getting too technical, is that the audience, the radio is the biggest that I've ever had. That's amazing to me at this point in my career."
5. SOUNDBITE (English) Mariah Carey: "I am blessed to be here. I am blessed to have this career and you have to be thankful in good times and in bad. I've been the same person throughout the whole thing. It's a nice feeling." 6. Close-up album cover 7. Close-up cover of "American" magazine 13. Close-up cover of "Essence" magazine

1. Bob Geldof arrives at presser
2. SOT Bob Geldof: "I was very reluctant to do this again. I couldn't see how anything could possibly be better than that glorious day twenty years ago, almost perfect in what it achieved and in the day itself. And I didn't want to do Bob's Best Bits but Bono and Richard in particular kept saying 'Do it again' and I didn't understand to what end. What could we do that was in any way different? It couldn't be about charity anymore, we knew too much and though that's all individuals can do and it's all that I hope they continue to do, no individual is ever going to solve the disgrace that is happening in Africa, the sole continent in those twenty years that has gone into economic decline by a factor of 25% and the result of that, of course, is that we see people dying on our television screens every night, seemingly forever."
3. SOT Elton John: "I really wasn't adult enough or mature enough to realise the full consequences of what we were doing then. Since then, of course, I've been fifteen years sober and clean and I think I've grown up and matured a bit and started my own AIDS charity and I've been in a huge battle to help AIDS patients ever since and of course these two things are tied in together very much so."
4. SOT Bob Geldof: "July 2nd isn't the beginning of our twenty year trek, it's the beginning of the final leg and after the concert, we will ask people to begin getting to Edinburgh. I don't care how you get there, don't care, you've got to get up there, you've got to get to Edinburgh and let them know what we think about."
5. SOT Bob Geldof: "The way you do it is you get core key acts and then everyone's in or out. Some just can't, I mean, some can, some don't want to and you know, just a totally honourable position to take, you know 'Don't want to' and some try but bands are always busy, either you don't have a band at the moment because you're off the road, or you're gigging or you're recording or you're mixing, so it's hard to break away from that and travel half way across the globe. But look, they have and they always have." (Q: on whether he's tempted to perform) "Of course I'll be there. I was pissed off - I kept putting my name down and Harvey refused to read it out. It's my ball and I'm going home if I can't play with it. I'll be up there, bloody right."
6. SOT Bob Geldof - on G8 member states: "If they don't want to change the world in the way that we see fit and which we will amply demonstrate, please don't come to our country, stay out because this is what we want to do, you know. what else are you going to do? Sit in the bloody golf club for two days, having nice food and then bugger off? You know, Richard Curtis always says 'If fifty thousand people died in Birmingham and then the next day, fifty thousand in Toulouse, and then the next fifty thousand in Cincinatti and then fifty thousand in Milan, between the breakfast room and the meeting room, those seven men would have dealt with the situation. Deal with it." 13. WS Bob Geldof

New York, February 2005
SHOTLIST :-
1. SOUNDBITE: (English) Chris Martin: "The Speed of Sound was chosen as the first single because everybody really liked it in the sanctum of our inner circle. Why else did everybody like it?" SOUNDBITE: (English) Guy Berryman: "I think it's very difficult when you chose the first single because being the first thing that people hear they automatically attach that first song to the whole album. I think we wanted a particular song that showed a good cross section of the album. It has elements of our previous album, and it also has elements of the direction of which we've gone forward as well. It's a great song and we love it."
2. SOUNDBITE: (English) Guy Berryman: "I think it's a progression as much as the second album was a progression of the first. Listening for different things, being on the road and getting different ideas together." SOUNDBITE: (English) Chris Martin: "All of the songs are different. A band like us, it's all about the songs, the original songs. We haven't repeated any of the same songs obviously. Listening broadens our horizons a bit; everything from Willie Nelson to Kraftwerk to Kate Bush. All this stuff just goes into our brains and comes out, we know not how."
3. SOUNDBITE: (English) Chris Martin (Question: Do you feel pressure to sell more units on this record?): "I think the pressure of sales or awards or anything isn't one to pay much attention to because, just because something sells a lot doesn't mean it's good or bad." SOUNDBITE: (English) Guy Berryman: "We've satisfied ourselves and feel that we've worked as hard as we could and pushed ourselves forward. That is ultimately the most rewarding side of it."
4. SOUNDBITE: (English) Guy Berryman (talking about the songwriting process): "It's usually Chris who starts with a basic song, or a whole song, or a part of an idea and we will sit around, the two of us, or the three of us, or the four of us and we will work on that for a few hours. Over the course of days, or weeks, or years, they'll get worked out." SOUNDBITE: (English) Chris Martin: "They'll either make it, or they won't make it. We are not geniuses, you know. We write a lot of songs. We just pick the least bad ones at the end."
5. SOUNDBITE: (English) Chris Martin (on dealing with being famous): "Most of the time we are regular anonymous people. It depends where we are and what we are doing. It depends who is following us and who is not following us. Most famous people, 90 percent of famous people, and I don't think we really count ourselves as famous people. Ninety percent of them get around pretty normally."
6. SOUNDBITE: (English) Guy Berryman (on their musical inspiration): "I think so, it's one of the great things about music...is there is so much out there, and there are always things to discover. There is old stuff that you'll hear and you'll never realise how good it was, or how greatly it will affect you, and you stumble upon the avenues and ideas and thoughts. That's something which is great because it's always fresh and there is always something to . . ." SOUNDBITE: (English) Chris Martin: " . . . be terrified by. We reached a point last year where we probably weren't listening to enough other music, or old music. I started listening to a lot of Beatles and David Bowie and Kraftwerk and it just sounded so good that it was terrifying. It made us scrap a lot of our own work and push ourselves even harder. I think as much as it is important to compete with everyone that is around at the moment, it is just as important to compete with the greats. We haven't yet put on a Mozart record because that would be too scary."
7. SOUNDBITE: (English) Chris Martin (does being a new father help you write inspirational music?): "Everything in my life inspires me to write music good and bad, and things that happen in our band as well. Something that happens to Guy might inspire lyrics, or something that happens to Jonnie (Jon Buckland). When you have a baby, or you lose a grandparent or a dog, or when you get a new house, or have your car stolen, it all goes in there."

I would just say that we considered all of the evidence and of course, since it was a criminal trial, it had to be beyond a reasonable doubt and in looking at all of the evidence and not just one specific item, that's the conclusion we arrived at."

1. SOUNDBITE (English) Beyonce Knowles: "We don't like the word break-up. It sounds really sad. We like to say that it is the end of a chapter in our lives. It's been 14 years and everything cannot last forever. 'Destiny Fulfilled' is the title of the album. It's not a coincidence. This is something we thought about. It was really important for us to end this chapter when we were successful still and not because one person wants to go solo or not because we don't like each other or because we are not selling records anymore, but because it has to end at a certain point and we all have different personal things that we want to do and things in our careers that we want to do. But it's really important that we maintain our friendship and still support each other and that's something that is going to happen because this is real and we really are truly friends beyond music."
2.SOUNDBITE: (English) Kelly Rowland: "It's like a marriage. You know you need communication. You need love and loyalty and trust, what else." SOUNDBITE: (English) Beyonce Knowles: "There are very few times you can find that perfect person that's really rare so it's not easy. There isn't one thing you can say. It has to be natural and we don't have to force our friendship we just really enjoy each other and it was always natural for us."
3. SOUNDBITE: (English) Michelle Williams: "We are happy and we made history, we did something that has not been done amongst a female group. There was press about it but not as much as there was about the statement that we just made and even in that statement there was a lot of love in that statement."
4. SOUNDBITE: (English) Beyonce Knowles: "For us we are just really happy to be a part of such an important event, historical event. When you have the attention of so many people, you have to take advantage of it and do something positive with it. We've been a part of charities, lots of them for years, but this is something that is really special to us because I know I have been to Africa and Kelly has been to Africa and we have seen the poverty, we've seen the children, I've held the babies that are sick of AIDS. I've seen the orphanages, we have seen it with our own eyes, it's real and people in America sometimes are so far away from it that they don't see it and they are out of touch. Everyone can help and we are happy to help and happy to be a part of this historical event.
5. SOUNDBITE: (English) Beyonce Knowles: "We all eventually want to have families, kids. We always joke and say we want to have our kids at the same time. Even if we don't have men, we'll just do it anyway." SOUNDBITE: (English) Michelle Williams: "Even if we have husbands or are getting married today. " SOUNDBITE: (English) Beyonce Knowles: "Come on lets get married. But we all want to do Broadway, movies, we want to do everything, we are still young." SOUNDBITE (English) Kelly Rowland: "And we want to support each other because that's what you need above everything."

London, 4th July 2005
SHOTLIST
1. SOUNDBITE (English) Owen Wilson: "There was a lot of adlibbing and improvising but a lot of the work was done sort of meeting with the writers and the director before filming began but all during the course of filming, one of the fun things about doing this movie was kind of getting with Vince I the morning or meeting on the weekends with David and Vince and going over stuff and kind of coming up with stuff. So all through the movie, we were sort of fine-tuning stuff and always kind of trying to make stuff funnier."
2. SOUNDBITE (English) Owen Wilson: "I find that the back story I am now, works pretty good, so I don't usually change that." SOUNDBITE (English) Vince Vaughn: "He usually goes with 'kid from Texas, went out to Hollywood, maybe didn't have the talent that everyone else had but got by on guts and worked out pretty good so far'." SOUNDBITE (English) Owen Wilson: "That's right. Guts was all I had left but I'll tell you something...it's worked out pretty good."
3. SOUNDBITE (English) Owen Wilson: "Vince breaks out into a cold sweat if he even hears about a wedding. It's going to be hard to lasso this stallion right here." SOUNDBITE (English) Vince Vaughn: "This big lug has a real hard time hearing the word 'wedding'." SOUNDBITE: (English) Owen Wilson: "The problem with vince is he spells commitment 'F-R-E-E-D-O-M' and a lot of women have a problem with that..long-term"
4. SOUNDBITE (English) Isla Fisher: "I watched 'Fatal Attraction' and I just kind of invented a manic laugh and then I did you know basically worked out, because it's hard with Gloria because at the end, she goes somewhere else. So I had to be careful not to push the joke to the point where you didn't think she was sweet and you didn't want her to be in love at the end of the film. So it was quite complicated."

1. SOUNDBITE (English) Tim Burton: "It wasn't in the book originally but we just felt like, you know, you have this eccentric character and you sort of want to, well we felt we needed, you know, rather than just having a weird character running around we wanted to give a flavour of why he is so weird and I felt that that sort of back story was important to showing why he is the way he is".
2. SOUNDBITE (English) Johnny Depp: "With Wonka I still have these images of kids show hosts and game show hosts, the idea of a guy who was isolated, very isolated and spent probably a little too much time by himself so it was like the idea of this guy who when he is around people he would kind of put on a face".
3. SOUNDBITE (English) Johnny Depp: "What helped me a lot was the teeth, the hair and the costume was very very helpful in just becoming that sort of long, string bean kind of thing".
4. SOUNDBITE (English) Freddie Highmore: "I thought we'd be working on blue screens and pretending to see a big 50 foot chocolate fall and pretending to see, you know, I don't know, you know, everything was there and I think it was fantastic that they had the ability to just build it all, you know, it was amazing".
5. SOUNDBITE (English) Tim Burton: "Yes that was important for this movie, we did use CG (computer generated images) and it's an important tool and element but what was also important was to, because, the thing I remember from the book is the textural quality of it and also working with kids, we wanted to give as much reality on the set as we possibly could, especially seeing as some of them hadn't done movies before so you know it was important for us to build, you know, the chocolate river and, you know, make it thick so it didn't just look like brown water and build the boat and have real Oompa Loompas, have squirrels, real squirrels because it not only helps the cast it helps the kids and it helps the crew because you get to be in the environment."
6. SOUNDBITE (English) Tim Burton: "My enjoyment is making movies because I grew up watching movies, I loved weird movies and you know, I love making weird movies".
7. SOUNDBITE (English) Johnny Depp: "I think all the way from back, you know, 'Cry Baby', 'Edward Scissorhands', all those choices I think were made for my kids, even though they weren't around yet, you know. I think I started making those choices with the idea that I would do exactly what I wanted to do the way I needed to do it, to leave something behind when I evaporate, you know for the kids, something that hopefully, at least for a period of time they could watch these films and go "yeah, Dad was trying something there", you know something that hopefully they can be proud of one day".

6. SOUNDBITE (English) Alex Wurman, Composer: "Penguins?"
7. SOUNDBITE (Hebrew) Steven Friedlander, Spokesperson, Warner Independent Pictures: "Penguins."
Los Angeles, 1 September 2005
8. SOUNDBITE (English) Morgan Freeman/Actor-Narrator - on whether and why the success of "Penguins" is surprising: "Well of course, who knew it would do this, it's a documentary, it's national geographic, this is late night television watching so the fact that it has got in to the movies and taken off like this is, well gosh, it's white feathers in your cap."
9. SOUNDBITE (English) Steven Friedlander, Spokesperson, Warner Independent Pictures -quantifying "Penguins"' North American box-office success: "I know we are the widest release, second widest released independent film, behind 'The Passion of The Christ'. Right now on the box office level we are, I believe 9th, we'll probably end up, I guess, 6th maybe 7th somehwere either right above or right below 'Sideways'. We are in the top ten all time for G rated non animated films, so it's been an interesting ride."
10. SOUNDBITE (English) Morgan Freeman, Actor-Narrator - on why the film's story is so engaging: "The penguins at the time that they are called to mate, in order to find a safe place to do that, make the 70 mile trek inland, you got any idea how long a penguins legs are? Really short, so to walk 70 miles takes some time and some effort, and some energy. So then they get there and they find a mate and they make love, more energy, and then the female has an egg, more energy, and they haven't eaten since they left the sea and they will not eat until they get back to the sea. It's just mind blowing."
Los Angeles,
31 August 2005
11. SOUNDBITE (English) Alex Wurner, Composer - on why the film succeeds and how that success has impacted on his career: "It's a beautiful movie and it's emotionally very pure and it connects with people in a great way, the music had a huge role in that I think and I'm extremely proud of it. I'm perfectly fine being associated with 'Penguins' for a period. Just don't make me wear any tuxedos "
12. SOUNDBITE (English) Steven Friedlander, Spokesperson, Warner Independent Pictures - on how the studio should react to "Penguins"' success: "We all expected it to do some business but no one expected it to do this business and there's a phrase that poker players use all the time that also fits for independent film, which is, 'just concentrate on decisions and don't worry about outcomes', because, you know, when you are playing cards you make all the right decisions and get unlucky and lose, same thing in independent film, you can make all the right decisions and either the audiences just don't agree with you or the critics don't like it or it comes out the time of year where there is too much competition, all you can do is concentrate on the best decisions you can make, trust your instincts and then the outcomes will take care of themselves, that's what happened here."

" Q : "And the other stuff how has that been to cope with? " "It is getting so boring and it is very unhealthy I think the level of scrutiny , specially where we come from in England is just getting insane and the paparazzi and there is so much money involved in all of that and it is getting to dangerous levels and unhealthy levels the obsession with people's private lives and I appreciate that what I do is going to attract attention and that to a certain degree you need it when you are promoting a film but just the lengths they will go to to find things out to destroy and it is really not cool. I was just so excited to be here and I had my fingers crossed really tightly that one day I would be invited to participate in some small way in this medium that I love so much. But, I got to tell you, that I never, ever imagined a day like this, or that I would be invited to be part of this legacy. I'm dying right now. (Laughs.) It just kind of smacked me upside the head why I'm standing here with you today."

1. SOUNDBITE: (English) Madonna:
"I don't like to repeat myself, don't like to stay in the same place for too long and I am in the mood to dance, so I didn't think about it too much. Stuart Price and I, the guy that I co-produced and wrote the record with, we just started experimenting with things. 'Hung Up' which is the first single was the first song that we did together. I said okay, that's it. I love this song and this is the direction I want the record to go in."
2. SOUNDBITE: (English) Madonna:
"The actual shoot days I had to have a nerve block, and injection so I couldn't feel the pain in my arm. It was a little bit stupid to do that actually, but the show must go on and I had a video I had to shoot. I can't make a video for a dance track and not dance in it. I danced my heart out, couldn't feel anything until the pain wore off. I was like, 'Oh what have I done?'"
3. SOUNDBITE: (English) Madonna:
"I don't think it is being exploited by the students if that is what you are asking me. People like Paris Hilton, there's a lot of people who come in for one class, buy a book or get a red string, but that doesn't mean you study it. You know what I mean. It's actually quite serious and you have to put in the man hours. It's like going to school. I don't think of it as something trendy because actually it is quite difficult."
4. SOUNDBITE: (English) Madonna:
"If anything my kids will rebel against and go in the opposite because that's what kids do. Who knows? I don't know. You got to support your kids. Hopefully by then I will have given them a good foundation and you've got to have the right priorities. They'll have impeccable taste and they'll do the right thing."
5. SOUNDBITE: (English) Madonna:
"No big regrets. I get a bit freaked out by some of my hairstyles, a few outfits and some hideous photographs and a few outfits. Things like that. Maybe a few guys I dated. Nothing too big. The same regrets we all have."
6. SOUNDBITE: (English) Madonna:

1. SOUNDBITE (English) Daniel Radcliffe:
"I really only feel famous for 2 days a year which is at the premiere's because other than that it doesn't really, like you never have journalists outside your house, touch wood that is going to keep on happening, because that would be a bit awkward. it really isn't affected that much which always surprises people, that I can have a normal life. But it is genuinely the truth. I still do normal stuff. it is good, and when people do come up to me on the street they are always really complimentary, and when you work on a film for 11 months it is great to have people come up to you and say that it was really good."
2. SOUNDBITE (English) Daniel Radcliffe:
"Guys are a lot worse at doing that thing of going out and making the first...even though it is always the guy that always seems to have the responsibility to ask first, I think that's incredibly unfair because it's a lot of pressure and we are not good at it and girls generally are better at words so surely it should be their responsibility. But yes so it's always an awkward moment but I think we have it tougher, you may disagree because I will never been in the female position. "
3. SOUNDBITE (English) Emma Watson:
"I can definitely relate to everything that Hermione is going through. How awkward it can be, how unsure and insecure of yourself you can be and no I think Mike has really captured what it feels like and I hope that our performances a lot of people our age will be able to relate to, definitely. "
4. SOUNDBITE (English) Rupert Grint:
"It has got its dark moments like the final scene of the whole Voldemort part, that is pretty scary, and the whole death eater bit. But it still has a good balance of the comedy moments and the more awkward moments that you see with Ron and the three of them yes. "
5. SOUNDBITE (English) Mike Newell, Director:
"What I want to do is to make the film that I want to make and I want to make it exciting and therefore I realised that I can't change the rules absolutely. I can't suddenly make Hogwarts a collection of wooden huts, but within those broad constants I can depart, I can depart in terms of how complex the characters are, I can depart in terms of how scary and challenging the action is. there are lots and lots of things that I can depart from and what I wanted to do is to make a film about adolescence apart from anything else. 1. SOUNDBITE (English) Billie Joe Armstrong: "well for us it always starts with punk rock, I mean we definitely want to expand on the idea, be individuals and be musicians and we've always known that we've had the chops to play different styles or change the dynamics of the way we play and so it's great."
2. SOUNDBITE (English) Billie Joe Armstrong: "it's nice to get recognised for what you do, I mean we've had really great success and it's been ten years after Dookie, so it's that much sweeter, but it's nice to be recognised for what you do, and even though I feel we have been recognised for what we do just because of the reaction that we're getting out of this album. So I don't know we'll see what happens and if it's a Grammy nom then we'll definitely be grateful for it."
3. SOUNDBITE (English) Tré Cool: "the video for American Idiot was Sam Bear, he's a great director, he did Smells Like Teen Spirit, as well as American Idiot, but we wanted to make a performance type video that nobody's ever seen before, we didn't know how or what and then we met with Sam and he said, 'I want to make a performance video that no one's ever seen before'."
4. SOUNDBITE (English) Mike Dirnt: "he wanted to have this sort of patterned look, where he wanted the flag behind us and our only real suggestion in it was that we change the colours of the flag because... So it can be construed or interpreted in a bunch of different ways, it could be looked at oil or it could be looked at as your individuality draining off the flag or as the colours run down, sometimes the colours do bleed."
5. SOUNDBITE (English) Billie Joe Armstrong: "we've gotten to know a lot of those bands whether it's Newfound Glory, Good Charlotte, Simple Plan, those guys are really cool and now they're sort of going in a new direction with their career too; they're challenging their new sound on their new albums and they're trying to broaden out a little bit more. So if anything, if there's bands that want to sound like Green Day it's not just for the early records that we've done but challenge yourself and take on your own sound too."

All star cast brings graphic-novel to the big screen

APTN L.A., 20th March 2005
SHOTLIST:-

SHOTLIST :-

But we all want to do Broadway, movies, we want to do everything, we are still young." 1.

So I had to be careful not to push the joke to the point where you didn't think she was sweet and you didn't want her to be in love at the end of the film. So it was quite complicated."

5. SOUNDBITE (English) David Poland, Entertainment Reporter: "Penguins."
