"While the car you see here is a concept, Kia will release a new Niro electric vehicle the second half of this year. It will be able to travel 238 miles on a single charge, more than double the range of the current Soul EV. In addition, with Niro EV's fast charging system, you can add more than 115 miles of range with just 30 minutes of charging."

"We will continue to expand our range of eco-friendly vehicles. By 2025 we will offer a total of 16 advanced powertrain vehicles with five new hybrids and plug-in hybrids, five new battery EVs and a new Fuel-cell electric vehicle."
Kia says the electric Niro EV is expected to enter production later this year.
Kia's vice chairman, Woong-chul Yang, says the concept vehicle will have the ability to fast charge an additional 115 miles within 30 minutes of charging.
The Niro EV is expected to be the first of five all-electric cars to hit the market by 2025.
With safety in mind, the vehicle also has an Active Pedestrian Warning System to alert the driver of nearby pedestrians and cyclists.
Smartphones and other small devices that used to dominate the annual CES gadget show have been overshadowed in recent years by bigger mobile devices: namely, automobiles.
Other major automakers like Toyota, Hyundai and Ford have a noticeable presence at this week's tech showcase in Las Vegas, though most save more practical announcements about new cars, trucks and SUVs for the upcoming Detroit auto show.
CES has been a chance for carmakers and suppliers of automotive parts and software to display their wilder and far-out ideas.
