"We have the honour to participate at the world championship in Germany - to play also against Germany - as one team from Korea. A joint team with North Korea. It is the first time in the history of handball that North and South Korea compete together with one team. And all this here in Berlin. The city is a symbol of peace and for German unity. We have been together for two weeks now and trained together. This is a long time and all the players are united in the will to give their best. And we were able to prepare very well. I think that we will give our best in every game and that everyone can look forward to beautiful pictures."

19. 05:58 SOUNDBITE (Korean): Cho Young-shin, Korea head coach (from South Korea):
"It was only a short time, but for me it was enough to get an overview of the strengths and weaknesses of the individual players from North Korea. And in consultation with my assistant from North Korea, we are still discussing and setting up a strategy as to when we will actually let which North Korean players play. That depends on what positions each player has and how they can best fit into the team. And here I can say that the Centre Back harmonises incredibly well with the other players. My promise is that one of the North Korean players will be there in every game."
