Dozens of Iraqi journalists working for al-Nahar press institution on Thursday gathered on a road leading to the French embassy in central Baghdad protesting against the recent cartoons of Prophet Muhammad published by French magazine Charlie Hebdo.
The protesters burned a French flag in front of the embassy.
The French Embassy in Baghdad has been protected by large metal gates and concrete walls since 2003.
There have been protests around the Muslim world following the publication of a special edition of Charlie Hebdo which featured caricatures of Prophet Muhammad.
The edition was published in the wake of an attack on the magazine's Paris office in which 12 people were killed.
