9. SOUNDBITE (English) Avraham Burg, former head of the Knesset (Israeli parliament):
"Gaza today is an opportunity. It's a place which is in such a deep misery and out of it hundreds of people, thousands of people, tens of thousands of people are marching. Most of them would like to go out of the catch 22 of the place. Most of them are about civil disobedience and a lot of non-violence. The fact that the state of Israel decided to react with violence only, means that Israel forgot the other language. Israel forgot the other hand and the demonstration here is a hope, one among many, that eventually we'll persuade both the government and the public opinion that defence is important, but peace offensive is much more significant."
10. Pan from small right-wing counter demonstration to left-wing demonstration
Dozens of Israeli left-wing activists and members of the Israeli-Arab parties demonstrated against the escalation between Israel and Gaza in Tel Aviv on Sunday.
Former head of the Knesset (Israeli parliament) Avraham Burg, who attended the demonstration, said "Gaza today is an opportunity" to make the government and people realise that "defence is important, but peace offensive is much more significant".
Thousands of Palestinians marched to Gaza's border with Israel on Friday in the largest such demonstration in recent memory.
Fifteen Palestinians were killed by Israeli fire and over 700 were wounded on the first day of what Hamas organisers said will be six weeks of daily protests against a border blockade.
It was the bloodiest day in Gaza since the 2014 cross-border war between Israel and Hamas.
