2. SOUNDBITE: (Hebrew) Chen Chaimovich, guide
"During the Passover holiday, we replace the animals food, also in the open area, we move from our usual grain-based mix to a corn-based mix and also here with the animals we give them a small piece of matzo instead of bread."
3. Gorilla eating
In Israel, even gorillas are getting geared up for Passover.
An Israeli zoo is giving some of its animals a kosher-for-Passover diet, swapping bread for matzo like observant Jews do.
During the holiday, bread and other items made from yeast disappear from store shelves and restaurants and observant Jews clear their homes of it.
Instead, Jews eat matzo to illustrate how the Israelites had no time to let their bread rise as they fled from bondage in Egypt.
