The Italian National Olympic Committee (CONI), AS Roma Football Club and the nonprofit organisation Open Goal organised a friendly match involving refugees in Rome on Monday.
Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau was the guest of honour at the match, organised to promote integration and inclusion.
Trudeau was welcomed at Rome's Olympic Stadium by CONI President Giovanni Malago and AS Roma President James Pallotta and was presented with a replica club shirt.
The refugee football team Liberi Nantes played against Fiorentina Football Club women team.
Liberi Nantes is the only amateur athletic association recognised by the UN refugee agency, UNHCR, which promotes access to every sport for refugees and asylum seekers.
