Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is calling for "all peace-loving countries" to stand by the United States' efforts to curb Iranian aggression.
Speaking on Thursday at a reception for the New England Patriots (US football team) owner Robert Kraft, Netanyahu said that "in the last 24 hours, Iran has intensified its aggression against the United States and against all of us," adding that "Israel stands by the United States and its military."
The escalating tensions between the US and Iran have been fueled by American allegations of recent Iranian attacks, raising fears of a war between the two countries.
Israeli officials have welcomed Washington's mounting pressure on Tehran, but steered clear of calling for a conflagration that would put Israel in the line of fire.
