At Windsor Castle, the pageantry of the Garter Ceremony. The Garter is the Supreme Order of Merit in the Nation, and was attended by Her Majesty the Queen and Prince Philip, also the Queen Mother and the Duke of Gloucester. The Order originated during the fourteenth century, and its ceremonies are among the most impressive in our heritage.
