The itinerary for the FIFA World Cup trophy tour was announced in Moscow on Thursday (6th July).

The Confederations Cup successfully out of the way - time to move onto the main event ...

In a year's time, the World Cup will be lifted in the Luzhniki Stadium in Moscow.

On Thursday though in the same venue, it was time to announce the trophy's whereabouts over the next 12 months.

The cup is going on the road in September.

And this being Russia, that means the pre-tournament tour will be the longest ever undertaken.

In 123 days it will traverse more than 26-thousand kilometres.

24 Russian cities will be visited - from Vladivostok in the far east, to the most westerly of the host cities, Kaliningrad.
