Shabab Rafah of the Gaza Strip hold Ahly al-Khalil of West Bank to a 0-0 draw in the second leg on Friday (4th August) win the Palestine Cup final 2-0 on aggregate, at the Palestine Stadium of Hebron .

SCRIPTING INFORMATION:

Ahly al-Khalil of West Bank hosted Shabab of Rafah from Gaza strip in the second leg of the Palestine Cup final in Hebron on Friday (4 August).

Ahly, the two time defending champion, had the advantage of playing at home after losing the first leg in the Gaza strip 2-0 last week.

Moreover, the Gazan outfit had to field a weakened side as the Israeli authorities refused to issue travel permits to 10 of the 25 Shabab squad players.

Nevertheless, the home supporters were hopeful that their experienced side will win for the third successive year.

After an uneventful first half, both sides came close to finding the net in the second half.

However, it ended nil-nil and Shabab of Rafah won 2-0 in aggregate.

They are the first Gazan team to win the Cup in more than a decade.

The annual fixture did not take place for 15 years mainly because of Israeli travel restrictions - and was resumed in 2015 after mediation from FIFA.
