Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan on Tuesday visited patients being treated in Haseki hospital for injuries sustained in a car bomb attack that targeted a bus carrying riot police during rush hour traffic in Istanbul.
Eleven people were killed and 36 others wounded, the city's governor said.
The explosion was caused by a bomb placed inside a car and was detonated as the police vehicle was passing by, according to the governor.
Tuesday's attack was the fourth major bombing in Istanbul this year.
