MIKE SHINODA, VICKY CORNELL, FRED DURST, RIHANNA PAY TRIBUTE TO BENNINGTON
Friends and musicians have been paying tribute to Linkin Park frontman Chester Bennington on social media.
His bandmate Mike Shinoda tweeted "Shocked and heartbroken, but it's true. An official statement will come out as soon as we have one."
Los Angeles County coroner spokesman Brian Elias said Thursday (20 july 2017) that authorities are investigating Bennington's death as an apparent suicide. Bennington, who was 41, was found dead in his home near Los Angeles.
Bennington had a strong bond with Chris Cornell, who committed suicide earlier in the year. He died on what would have been the Soundgarden singer's 53rd birthday.
Cornell's widow Vicky tweeted, "just when I thought my heart couldn't break any more...I love you T"
Limp Bizkit singer Fred Durst posted a photo of himself and Bennington on Instagram captioned "Gonna miss you," while others sharing their memories and expressing their condolences included Rihanna, Stormzy and Steve Aoki.
