2. SOUNDBITE (English) Jeremy Hunt, UK Foreign Secretary:
(Reporter question: "Were you surprised by Dominic Raab's (UK Brexit Secretary) prediction that a Brexit deal will be finalized by the 21st of November? Or do you share that prediction?")
"Well, I think it's entirely possible that we could make progress, enough progress, by then. There are broadly two substantive outstanding issues, they're both pretty difficult ones. One of them is the degree to which our trade is frictionless in the post-Brexit environment and the other is the Northern Irish backstop. But I think if we put our minds to it, it's entirely possible that we could resolve those issues and I think that although there's a degree of doom and gloom about the Brexit talks at the moment, the fact that we've got to this stage a month before, or not quite a month but nearly a month, before the 21st of November and it does boil down to those two issues, I think is broadly encouraging."
