"We were very careful and wanted to make sure that we were celebrating their differences and that it was a positive thing. Not just the fact, of point and look, and stare and laugh. In our book I hope, the combination of information in the book shows that it's an educational thing, we're saying here is the scope of the world, here is the world's smallest man for your reference, here is the world's tallest man, here is the longest legs. So in the context of what we're doing at Guinness World Records I don't think there's any element of freakery at all."

Two extreme worlds came together on the steps of Trafalgar Square in London on Tuesday after the world's smallest man met the woman with the longest legs in the world.
He Pingping, a 20-year-old man from Mongolia measures just 74.61cm tall (2ft 5.37in) and holds the Guinness World Record title for the world's smallest man.
He only just reaches the knees of Russian, Svetlana Pankratova, the woman with the longest legs, which have been measured at 132cm (4ft 3.9in) --almost twice his height.
Born with primordial dwarfism, He Pingping from Huade County in Wulanchabu, was no bigger than his father's palm at birth.
He told AP Television that Pankratova had very long legs but even though he was dwarfed by her, he still manages to live a normal life and is not afraid of anything.
He has a girlfriend who is of average height and runs a restaurant back home in Mongolia.
The two record holders met at the launch of the 2009 edition of the Guinness World Records book which is to be published on Wednesday.
Svetlana, from Volgograd, who is 1m 96cm tall (6ft 4in) stood tall before the cameras, and gawking crowds at Trafalgar Square.
"Well actually it's great for me to realise that I am the queen of the longest legs. I'm the longest on the planet. It just feels good. Actually I'm proud of it," she said.
The editor of the Guinness World Records, Craig Glenday, rejected suggestions their very public meeting amounted to a freak show.
"We were very careful and wanted to make sure that we were celebrating their differences and that it was a positive thing. Not just the fact, of point and look, and stare and laugh," Glenday said.
He said the information in the book shows "the scope of the world" and that in that context "I don't think there's any element of freakery at all."
