He's still standing - British rock star Elton John arrived for his 50th birthday party bash Sunday night dressed in an outrageous eight foot tall costume.
The outfit consisted of a giant silver wig, silver brocade coat and a 15-foot feather train.
Other guests at the half million (U-S) dollar London bash included hit musical composer Andrew Lloyd Webber, and hypnotist Paul McKenna.
Elton John kept hundreds fans waiting for an hour outside West London's Hammersmith Palais club.
But when his giant white truck finally arrived, the crowd knew that the rock megastar wasn't going to disappoint.
There had been much speculation about what the extrovert singer would wear.
But on the night, nobody could have anticipated the opulence and absurdity of his final selection.
Stunned party goers looked on in amazement as Elton and his entourage stepped out of their vehicle.
The rock star's incredible eighteenth century outfit came complete with a giant silver wig and a sweeping feather train.
It took several assistants to help Elton inside the party, where he sat on a huge velvet throne.
The excess of the occasion spread to other party goers.
Hit musical composer Andrew Lloyd-Webber was among the guests - wearing the uniform of his beloved Middlesborough football team.
Also joining in the fun were actress Barbara Windsor and hypnotist Paul McKenna.
But Elton John had made it clear that nobody was going to upstage him on his birthday.
