I've done it I guess - I guess I did it in 2011 and we do a lot of work down in Haiti, work that happened after the earthquake and I think it's just having this event is a good thing because it gives people a chance to sort of reflect on what happened and try to do something positive."
4. Med shot of Ben Stiller talking to a trader on the phone on Cantor Fitzgerald trading floor
5. SOUNDBITE (English) Ben Stiller/Actor:

7. SOUNDBITE (English) Michael J. Fox/Actor:
"What always comes back to me is the shock, just the shock of it, that our world could be turned upside down in an instant. And that again reinforces the idea that these moments that we have, these hours and days and weeks and months and years that we have, to be able to do something and make it count, make it important, is the greatest bulwark against something that shocking happening. We can't prevent that all the time, but we can be strong in our response and people have done that. That's what I take away from it."
8. Med shot of Swizz Beatz signing the Cantor Fitzgerald Charity Day board
9. SOUNDBITE (English) Swizz Beatz/Recording Artist, Music Producer:
"It just lets you know the type of world we live in and that even with my wife's (Alicia Keys) new song 'We Are Here' - that song is a message to encourage people to stay positive in a world where you might not have so many positive people. So the song is a message: We are here. She just released a video and actually they did it today as the moment of silence, on Z-100, I think it was like 40 different stations. So it was pretty amazing."
10. Medium of Zosia Mamet posing for photographers
11. SOUNDBITE (English) Zosia Mamet/Actress;
"Yeah, I mean I think it absolutely... time always gives it perspective and healing. But I think New York particularly, more so than anywhere else in the world, is a city that in times of need really bands together. And they're so proud and they're so loyal, New Yorkers, and I think that it really goes to show, every year, it's not something that's ever forgotten. It's something that's remembered even more so as time goes on. And that's really why I wanted to be here today, you know?"
12. Med shot of John Slattery talking with a fan at Cantor Fitzgerald
13. SOUNDBITE (English) John Slattery/Actor:
"I was, my son, talking to him about it last night, it was his first day of school. I lived in the West Village, and the prominent feature of my view outside the window was the World Trade Center. I saw the plane, second plane... you know, it was a terrible day for a lot of people here, a lot of people everywhere. So I was talking with him about it, 15-years-old, it would have been his first day of school, it was his first day of school, they cancelled school obviously, but yeah, it's hard to believe it was that long ago. The passage of time does strange things to events like this."
14. Med shot of Michelle Williams walking into Cantor Fitzgerald lobby
15. Med shot of camera monitor with shot of Michelle Williams on viewfinder
16. SOUNDBITE (English) Michelle Williams/Actress:
"I'm here on behalf of Opening Act, which is an organization that brings theatre into high-needs schools in Brooklyn and in the Bronx. And I'm also here because it's, you know, on September 11th, it's hard to figure out what to do, how to commemorate the day. And this is a way that I can pass it in good conscience."

18. SOUNDBITE (English) Steve Buscemi/Actor:

There were over, you know, 30 members that were lost in Battalion 2, five of them were in Engine 55. It's sad, but we all get comfort from being together."

CELEBRITIES COME OUT FOR ANNUAL 9/11 CHARITY DAY
Michael J. Fox, Michelle Williams and Swizz Beatz were among some of the entertainers who attended the annual Charity Day at Cantor Fitzgerald.
The event takes place each year on the anniversary of the September 11 attacks on America in 2001. More than 650 employees of the financial firm were killed when two airplanes flown by terrorists crashed into the World Trade Center.
In their honor, the company donates all of its revenue earned on September 11 to various charities, some of them chosen by the celebrities.
"I'm here on behalf of Opening Act, which is an organization that brings theatre into high-needs schools in Brooklyn and in the Bronx," said actress Michelle Williams. "And I'm also here because it's, you know, on September 11th, it's hard to figure out what to do, how to commemorate the day. And this is a way that I can pass it in good conscience."
New York City native Ben Stiller feels the same way.
"I think it's always a day where you remember and being a New Yorker - I think anybody has a feeling about it - so I think this is a great thing where you can just come back and do something that sort of honors everybody who was affected, you know?" he said, before walking the trading floor and greeting Cantor Fitzgerald employees.
Actor Michael J. Fox, whose Parkinson's charity -- The Michael J. Fox Foundation -- benefits from the day, said 9/11 always reminds him that individuals can make a difference.
"What always comes back to me is the shock, just the shock of it, that our world could be turned upside down in an instant. And that again reinforces the idea that these moments that we have, these hours and days and weeks and months and years that we have, to be able to do something and make it count, make it important, is the greatest bulwark against something that shocking happening," he said. "We can't prevent that all the time, but we can be strong in our response and people have done that. That's what I take away from it."
"Girls" actress Zosia Mamet put it another way:
"I think New York particularly, more so than anywhere else in the world, is a city that in times of need really bands together," she said. "And they're so proud and they're so loyal, New Yorkers, and I think that it really goes to show, every year, it's not something that's ever forgotten.
