Paul Manafort arrived to court for an arraignment hearing on new obstruction charges.
The former campaign manager for Donald J. Trump has been indicted in special counsel Robert Mueller's investigation into alleged Russian interference during the 2016 presidential election.
Manafort was initially indicted on 12 counts, including conspiracy against the United States, conspiracy to launder money, unregistered agent of a foreign principal, false and misleading FARA statements, false statements, and seven counts of failure to file reports of foreign bank and financial accounts.
Special counsel Mueller has since brought new obstruction charges against Manafort, including obstruction of justice and conspiracy to obstruct justice related to contacts they had with two witnesses earlier this year.
He was charged alongside former Donald J. Trump for President deputy campaign manager Rick Gates, who has pleaded guilty to federal conspiracy and false-statements charges.
