Hours before Super Bowl 53 kicked off at Mercedes Benz Stadium in Atlanta, fans walked confidently through Centennial Park decked out in their team apparel.
While the New England Patriots are no stranger to the championship game, fans like Ryan Ford are hoping for a better outcome than last year's defeat against the Philadelphia Eagles.
"I'm very confident because we need revenge from last year. Belichick is going to throw things at Sean McVay that he's never seen before. Pats got this," Ford said.
Despite the controversy surrounding a play call in the NFC Championship game, many say handed the Super Bowl spot to the Los Angeles Rams, fans wearing blue and gold on Sunday defended their right to be there.
"We have a great coach who is enthusiastic, has the team focused on one thing and working together. And that energy is going to take us to a win today,"
James Noonan said.
His wife, Keri, expects a close game.
"I think personally it's going to be a close game. Probably 20s, 30s," she said.
