2. SOUNDBITE (English) Selene San Felice, Feature Reporter, The Capital Gazette:
"And I'm a survivor of the shooting in our newsroom. Today is overwhelming and sad and awful but it's also a sign of hope. And remembrance and I want people to take today and take it with a purpose not just with sadness."

3. SOUNDBITE (English), Paul Gillespie, Photojournalist, The Capital Gazette:
"We're commemorating the one-year anniversary of the tragedy that happened in our newsroom that took five of my family members. I think it's a special day because I want people to never forget what those five gave up."
"I came here today to remember five journalists who were slain a year ago in their newsroom and especially to remember one of them is the mother hen of the journalism - journalists who were killed. Wendi Winters I'm calling the White House every day until they award her the Medal of Freedom. She picked up a trash can and a recycling bin and charged a gunman with a shotgun. And that gave six people time enough to hide and survive."
