"So far what we have is, we have a female student earlier this evening, apparently had a dispute with a male."/"Six foot three (1.9 meters), 250 pound black male that was seen in the area. Shots were fired. We did locate the female who was found deceased in a vehicle and we do have law enforcement, multiple agencies who are here responding and helped assisting in this point in time to locate this individual."

11. Various police in parking lot

The University of Utah says it has lifted the lockdown of the campus after a fatal shooting.

The university imposed the lockdown shortly before 10 p.m., MDT Monday (0500g Tuesday) after the body of a female student was found in a car near the medical towers.

The university says police are looking for the suspect. The university described the suspect as a black man, 37 years old, 6-foot, 3 inches (1.9 meters), 250 pounds (113 kg), wearing a gray beanie, black pants, white shoes and a white hoodie. He was last seen on foot leaving north from the university's medical towers.

Wahlin says the man they are searching for and the student had "a previous relationship."
