Naked but for a studded dog's collar, a Russian performance artist is living his life as a dog in a trendy art gallery in New York.

Barking and biting, artist Oleg Kulik has been acting as a dog ince he passed through customs at JFK airport earlier this onth. Kulik, 36, stripped off his clothing, strapped on a dog's ollar and began communicating only in growls and whines for his wo-week performance titled "I Bite America and America Bites Me"

Visitors are allowed to pet him through the bars of his cage-like room he calls a dog house, but they're on their own if they decide to venture into his cage. Kulik will be living on all fours in a secured dog house in SoHo's Deitch Project gallery until Saturday.
