1. SOUNDBITE (English) Sen. Bernie Sanders, (I) Vermont:
"I'm very proud of the 2016 presidential campaign that we ran, and the staff, and the volunteers the hundreds of thousands of volunteers who made our successes possible. Together, as you will recall, we took on virtually the entire economic and political establishment, and we vigorously defended the needs of working families. Many of the issues that we raised, Medicare for all, high cost of prescription drugs, 15 bucks an hour minimum wage. Those are issues that now supported by the vast majority the American people. That's the good news The bad news is that it appears that as part of our campaign, there was some women who are harassed or mistreated. And I thank them from the bottom of my heart for speaking out. What they experienced was absolutely unacceptable, and certainly not what a progressive campaign, or any campaign, should be about."
2. SOUNDBITE (English) Sen. Bernie Sanders, (I) Vermont:
"To the women in our campaign who were harassed or mistreated, I apologize. Our standards, our procedures, our safeguards were clearly inadequate."
3. SOUNDBITE (English) Sen. Bernie Sanders, (I) Vermont:
"Clearly in this country, we need a cultural revolution to change workplace attitudes and behavior. Every woman in this country who goes to work today or tomorrow has the right to make sure that she is working in an environment which is free of harassment which is safe and which is comfortable, and I will do my best to make that happen."
