2. SOUNDBITE (English) Jon Ossoff, (D) Georgia Senate candidate:
"We can beat COVID-19, we can surge vaccine distribution and make sure testing and vaccines are free for every American, we can put Georgia's own CDC in charge, as it should be, of our national pandemic response. We will be able to pass $2000 stimulus checks for the people next week when we win these races in Georgia."
3. SOUNDBITE (English) Jon Ossoff, (D) Georgia Senate candidate:
"Georgia voters have never had more power than you have today. That's the reason the whole world is watching us in Georgia. That's the reason everybody needs to get out to the polls and make their voices heard."
Georgia voters are casting their ballots to determine which party will control the U.S. Senate. The results will have big implications on President-elect Joe Biden's ability to pass his legislative agenda on matters such as the pandemic and health care.
Democrat Jon Ossoff is facing David Perdue, while Raphael Warnock is challenging Republican Sen. Kelly Loeffler and trying to become the state's first Black senator.
Ossoff and Raphael Warnock need to win both races for a 50-50 Senate in which Vice President-elect Kamala Harris would cast the tiebreaking vote.
Ossoff spoke Tuesday morning outside a neighborhood center in Atlanta, urging everyone to cast a ballot, saying, "This is history unfolding in Georgia right now."
