At an emotional news conference the prosecution team in the OJ Simpson trial shared their deep disappointment at the verdict with Ronald Goldman's family.
There were tears on all sides as both prosecution and family gave their opinion of the "Not Guilty" verdict.
And one prosecutor, Christopher Darden, actually had to leave, he was so overcome with emotion.
It was a sombre press conference presided over by the District Attorney Gil Garcetti. Garcetti voiced the prosecution's deep regret at the "Not Guilty " verdict for OJ Simpson.
SOUNDBITE:
I think you probably have more people who are profoundly disappointed with the result.

Marcia Clark, who had told the jurors on the first day of the trial that there was a mountain of evidence against Simpson, was gracious in defeat.
SOUNDBITE:
It was a dignified fight, it showed great courage, great integrity, great moral strength and we have every reason to be proud of every single one of them. And we are. Thank you.

For Prosecutor Christopher Darden the jurors' decision to acquit Simpson was too much to bear.
SOUNDBITE:
"I'm not angry. But I'd also like to thank the lawyers on our prosecution team. I am honoured to have."
SUPER CAPTION:
But Darden could take no more and felt compelled to leave the courtroom.
Then it was Fred Goldman's turn. For him the verdict was a double cruelty.
SOUNDBITE:
Last June 13th '94, was the worse nightmare of my life. This is the second.

Never one to be lost for words during the trial, Goldman struggled to express his profound grief.
SOUNDBITE:
To my wife Betty, my daughter Kim, Michael and Lauren and Bran, my other kids. To all of our deep close friends who have been there for us, for this year and the four months, or five or whatever it's been; who have helped us daily get through each day, we'll never be able to say thank you enough. I will forever be proud of my son and my family. Thank you."

The Goldmans' believe that justice has not been done and that the US justice system is the biggest loser today.
