JOLIE AND PITT MARRY, BRAD ALREADY BACK AT WORK

Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt were married Saturday (23 AUG 2014) in the French hamlet of Correns, a spokesman for the couple says.

They wed in a small chapel in a private ceremony attended by family and friends at Provence's Chateau Miraval.

In advance of the nondenominational civil ceremony, Pitt and Jolie obtained a marriage license from a local California judge.

The judge also conducted the ceremony in France.

The couple's children took part in the wedding.

Jolie walked the aisle with her eldest sons Maddox and Pax, Zahara and Vivienne threw flower petals while Shiloh and Knox served as ring bearers, the spokesman says.

By Thursday it was back to business with Pitt at a photocall for new movie "Fury" at The Tank Museum in Bovington, Dorset on Thursday.

Set in 1945, Pitt plays Wardaddy, a tank commander on a mission behind enemy lines - he was also Executive Producer on the movie.

Pitt's co-stars, Logan Lerman, Jon Bernthal plus writer / director David Ayer were also at the photocall.

Jolie and Pitt's wedding caps years of rampant speculation on when the couple would officially tie the knot.

Pitt once said that he didn't want to marry until gay marriage was legal, but in recent years, both said they intended to. They were engaged in early 2012 after some seven years together.

"It's an exciting prospect, even though for us, we've gone further than that," Pitt told The Associated Press in an interview in November 2012.

"But to concretize it in that way, it actually means more to me than I thought it would. It means a lot to our kids."

They have six children together, including three they adopted: 13-year-old Maddox, from Cambodia; 10-year-old Pax, from Vietnam; and 9-year-old Zahara, from Ethiopia.

The couple's three biological children are 8-year-old Shiloh, and Knox and Vivienne, 6-year-old twins.

This is the second marriage for Pitt, who wed Jennifer Aniston in 2000.

They divorced in 2005.

Jolie was previously married to British actor Jonny Lee Miller for three years in the late `90s and to Billy Bob Thornton for three years before divorcing in 2003.

Both Jolie and Pitt are prepping movies.

Jolie's second directorial effort, the World War II odyssey "Unbroken," will be released in December.

While Pitt's World War II drama "Fury," is due out October 17th and will be the closing gala at the London Film Festival.

Brad Pitt gave Marion Cotillard a glowing review while promoting their film "Allied" in France.

At the movie's Paris premiere Sunday (20 NOV. 2016), Pitt called the actress "a great partner", "vivacious," and "a real gem of a human being."

They also joked about Pitt's attempt at speaking French.

"Everyday she was so complimentary of my French. She was incredibly impressed...Fantastique. It was like birds singing on a Sunday morning every time I spoke French," said Pitt.

When he was asked to talk about Cotillard he said it was strange to pay her compliments with her listening in.

"Say it in French I won't understand anything," Cotillard replied and the two burst into laughter.

In "Allied," set during World War II, Cotillard plays a spy who falls in love with Pitt's spy character.

"Allied" debuts on Nov. 23 in China, the U.S. and some European and Asian countries.

WORLD WAR Z WORLD PREMIERE

Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie spoke emotionally on Sunday (2 June) at the premiere of zombie thriller "World War Z" _ Jolie's first public appearance since announcing last month that she had undergone a double mastectomy.

"They've been...I get moved to talk about it," responded Jolie to a question regarding how her family had supported her through the ordeal.

The couple who have six children, arrived together at the world premiere of the big-budget film, which stars Pitt as a United Nations employee battling to save the world from a zombie apocalypse.

The pair wore complementary black outfits as they signed autographs for fans in Leicester Square.

Jolie told reporters she felt great, and had been very happy to see the discussion of women's health expanded by her announcement.

"It has, I've been very just to see the discussion about women's heath expanded, and that means the world to me" The actress said. "After losing my mum to these issues I'm very grateful for it and I'm, I've been very moved by the kind of support from people, really, really very grateful for it."

Jolie's mother Marcheline Bertrand died from ovarian cancer at 56, and the actress' aunt died of breast cancer last month.

Jolie revealed last month in an op-ed piece for The New York Times that she had had her breasts removed after discovering she has an inherited genetic mutation that puts her at high risk of breast and ovarian cancer.

The 37-year-old actress revealed that, beginning in February, she underwent three surgeries _ which she succeeded in keeping secret from the public _ in which her breasts were removed, and later replaced by implants. She said the procedure had reduced her chance of developing breast cancer from 87 percent to under 5 percent.

"It was just important to her to learn, she learned a lot going through it," said Brad when asked about supporting Jolie when she went public with the piece." We learned a lot as a family going through it, and she thought there was something to share, and that's what was important to her, that's who she is."

Pitt said he was proud of Jolie for taking the decision to have a double mastectomy.

Brad defied anyone to not get swept away by the film.

"It's so much fun. It's the most intense thing you're going to see all summer. I dare anyone to disagree with me," he challenged.

The premiere was followed by a special concert by British rockers Muse, who also feature on the film's soundtrack.

"World War Z," opens in theaters June 21st in the UK and North America.

The long-awaited 'Troy,' released this month, stars Hollywood pin-up Brad Pitt in the 'sword and sandal' epic as Achilles, a hero of the Greek army who lays siege to Troy, after the beautiful Helen is stolen from her husband, the King of Sparta in 1193 B.C.

Directed by Wolfgang Petersen ('The Perfect Storm,' 'Outbreak'), the film is based on the classic account of the Trojan War in Homer's epic poem 'The Iliad.'

Much of the weight of the film rests on Pitt's shoulders and his portrayal of the intense Achilles and he immersed himself in the role.

The star worked hard to get into muscular shape for the role of ultimate warrior, and was said to have reacted angrily when a British tabloid newspaper accused him of using steroids to help bulk up for the role, insisting his fit physique is down to pure dedication. He even quit smoking to help him achieve the right level of physical fitness.

Pitt also grew his hair long and learned how to handle a spear for the role.

Meanwhile, the star and his fellow cast and crew had their own battle to fight against the elements including blistering heat and a hurricane wiped out part of the massive set throwing the filming schedule into disarray. A does of stomach illness - Montezuma's revenge - also laid low many members of the film.

Pitt also picked up an injury - to his Achilles tendon no less - that also caused costly delays to the filming.

Pitt, now 40, was recently voted one of the world's most beautiful in a People magazine survey. But the star say he has nothing to fear from the loss of youth and does not fear passing the symbolically important milestone to middle age.

The heartthrob is joined on screen by new sex symbol on the block Orlando Bloom ('The Lord of the Rings,' 'Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl').

Bloom plays Prince Paris, who sneaks Helen (former model Diane Kruger) away from King Menelaus (Brendan Gleeson - 'Cold Mountain'). Paris' act sets two nations at war. The Greeks launch their entire armada to begin ten years of conflict.

The film also features Australian newcomer Rose Byrne ('The Rage in Lake Placid') as Pitt's love interest the slave girl Briseis, Eric Bana ('The Hulk'), Sean Bean ('The Lord of the Rings'), Brian Cox ('X-2') screen veteran Peter O'Toole - and Julie Christie as Thetis, the mother of Achilles who, legend has it, dipped him in water held by his heel, creating his famous weakness.

The epic had a one of biggest budget's ever with more than 150 million dollars spent (Pitt is believed to have banked $17 million for the role) on remote location shoots with 500 hundred extras, to multiplied to tens of thousands with CGI wizardry, in Malta and Los Cabos in Mexico.

The battle scenes were originally to be filmed in Morocco, but have been moved to Los Cabos because of concerns about political tension in Middle East.

'Troy' is set set to debut at the Cannes Film Festival and is released in the US on May 24th.

BRAD PITT AND CO-STARS SAY WW2 DRAMA 'FURY' HAS CHANGED THEM

Brad Pitt said his latest film "Fury" has made him a "better father" at the movie's red carpet event in Paris on Saturday (18 October).

Pitt and fellow cast members all spoke of being changed after filming David Ayer's WWII action-packed drama, which tells the story of the five members of an American tank unit in Germany during the last months of the war.

Standing in front of a real Sherman tank used by Americans during WW2 and in the film, actor Brad Pitt said "Fury" was not about "killing nazis", but about "the human experience, the accumulation of trauma to the psyche, of everything you witness, of everything you're having to do that is not innate to our humanity."

Pitt, who married actress Angelina Jolie in a secret wedding over the summer, was wearing his gold wedding band.

He spoke with emotion of "seeing the flag through the soldiers' eyes: "I was surprisingly moved by it."

Ayer's "Fury" aims to portray the reality of the war and its effect on the soldiers, both physically and emotionally.

His cast prepared by undergoing several months of intense bootcamp-style training and met with WWII veterans to hear their stories.

Actor Shia LaBeouf explained how he decided not to shower during the entire four months of filming:

"During our prep, I met a veteran named Comfy Cosy, who's a British TC, who told me he had one pair of socks for three years and that he took two showers in the course of his three year tour. So I figured if we're only filming for four months, I'd give it everything I got and it changed the dynamic of how people dealt with you. It's a dangerous thing you know."

Being confined inside a Sherman tank proved a bonding experience for the five actors, as director David Ayer recalled:

"Normal movie set, you do your work, you go home. They would stay, they would help each other, they'd work together. Brad would be on the set when he didn't have to. Shia would be there to help Brad, even if he wasn't on the camera. So they were really connected, but it was very difficult. It was emotionally difficult. They did a great job, but I think they suffered in this movie, in this work."

For up and coming actor Logan Lerman, who plays the second title role in the film, making Fury was a "humbling experience".

David Ayer's film changed all five actors, whom, just as soldiers would develop unbreakable bonds with their fellow war buddies, have now become "like bothers" to one another according to actor Jon Bernthal.

"These guys are all a part of me now," he said. "They live in my heart, they're burned into my soul and I know them. they are like brothers to me and this changes my life."

The film will close the London Film Festival Sunday (19 October) with a gala premiere.

"Fury" debuted on Friday (17 Oct.) in the US and opens in the UK and France on Wednesday 22nd October.

BRAD PITT AND ANGELINA JOLIE GET NEW WAX FIGURES

What does every superstar actor want for his 50th birthday? Well according to London's Madame Tussauds, it's a new wax figure.

To honor Brad Pitt's 50th birthday on Wednesday (18 DEC.) the "Fight Club" star will be getting a new wax figure at the London tourist attraction.

And to avoid any arguments in the household, his partner Angelina Jolie will also be getting a new glammed up figure of her own.

"Well, the last figures we had of Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie, were actually created eight years ago," explained Nicole Fenner, PR Manager for Madame Tussauds London. "And we wanted to take this opportunity with Brad's 50th birthday to introduce new figures and give them a bit of a refresh and dress them in some new clothes that really capture that moment when you see them on the red carpet."

Each wax figure at Madame Tussauds costs around �150, 000 (pounds sterling) to produce.

The figures are both dressed in glamorous red carpet attire; Pitt in a black suit and tie and Jolie in a long satin blue evening gown with a thigh length split.

In order to truly capture them on the red carpet, the Jolie wax figure stands in a pose you might recognize.

"We've looked at hundreds and thousands of pictures of how Angelina poses on the red carpet, and when she posed very ironically a couple of years ago, that's something we wanted to draw inspiration with the figure that we have here," said Fenner.

So, what will happen to the old statues? According to Madame Tussauds, they'll be sent to the archive for safe keeping.

BRAD PITT SCORES HOME RUN IN JAPAN

Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie were in central Tokyo Wednesday (9th November 2011) for the red carpet Japan premiere of "Moneyball."

This was the first visit by A-list Hollywood celebrities to Japan since the earthquake and tsunami of March 11 and excited Japanese fans greeted the couple with enthusiasm.

Brad and Angelina, who wore a striking red dress, spent a considerable amount of time signing autographs and talking with local media.

After arriving in Japan yesterday, Pitt spent the day promoting the movie while the family enjoyed their time in Japan. The couple said that they and the children were very happy to be in the country, but that the kids had the better deal.

"Well you know I've been shuffling all day with the release of the film. They've gotten to play all day and explore and have a really nice time and they are very happy."

At the premiere Pitt met with young people from local baseball teams from the areas that were worst affected from the earthquake and tsunami.

Each one received a signed baseball from the actor.

Pitt said that his heart goes out to the people of Japan who have suffered so much from the tragedy and wished everyone their best for a speedy reconstruction and recovery process.

"The stories that we witnessed on the news around the globe of the people that are fighting to repair and reconstruct their lives and the lives of others ... I can't tell you what a profound effect it has on the rest of us and it's a ... we ... our hearts are with you and with everyone affected by the catastrophe and with great admiration and respect we wish everyone a ... you know ... that ... to heal the wounds so I think it's a very important time for athletes and the community to come together and entertainers to be able to provide those moments of inspiration and even escape, but our thoughts and our respect go to out to everyone who are persevering and are tenacious about the survival of themselves and others."

Brad Pitt played a crucial role in bringing this movie, four years in the making, to the big screen and Pitt's performance has been receiving lots of positive reviews that are generating an Oscar buzz.

"It's from a book called ... by Michael Lewis "The Science of Winning an Unfair Game - Moneyball" and I got really taken with his book of questioning conventional thought the inequality in sports and how does a team compete that doesn't have the budget of another and what's the idea of value, what is really success and failure and how do we determine our own self worth on it. And it's funny," he said.

But Pitt played down the matter saying he just wants to focus on making good movies that are relevant to "our times".

ANGELINA JOLIE PITT FILES FOR DIVORCE FROM BRAD PITT

Brangelina is no more. Angelina Jolie Pitt has filed for divorce from Brad Pitt, bringing an end to one of the world's most star-studded, tabloid headline-generating romances.

An attorney for Jolie Pitt, Robert Offer, said Tuesday in a statement that she has filed for the dissolution of the marriage. Offer said the decision to divorce was made "for the health of the family."

Offer refused to answer questions about the divorce.

The couple has six children together: Maddox, Pax, Zahara, Shiloh, and twins Knox and Vivienne.

Though together for 12 years, Pitt and Jolie Pitt only wed in August 2014. They married privately in the French hamlet of Correns in Provence with their children serving as ring bearers and throwing flower petals. They announced the ceremony days later.

This is the second marriage for Pitt, who previously wed Jennifer Aniston. It's the third for Jolie Pitt, who was previously married to Billy Bob Thornton and Jonny Lee Miller.

Though their initial romance - begun after the pair starred together in 2005's "Mr. and Mrs. Smith" - sparked an avalanche of tabloid interest, Jolie Pitt and Pitt settled into their own unique kind of globe-trotting domesticity.

The pair adopted children from Cambodia, Vietnam and Ethiopia. And they sought to direct the glare of their celebrity toward other causes. Jolie Pitt, a goodwill ambassador for the United Nations, became an outspoken voice for refugees and various causes in Africa, as well as for breast cancer treatment after undergoing a double mastectomy.

Jolie Pitt also launched herself as a film director. Last year, the couple starred together in her "By the Sea," playing a glamorous couple vacationing together in France while their marriage was on the rocks. It made a mere $538,000 at the box office.

In a 2014 interview with The Associated Press, Jolie Pitt said playing a couple with marital problems was cathartic.

"It almost makes you get past those issues because you can laugh at them," Jolie Pitt said. "You do a film about bad marriage and you witness that behavior. You study it, you let it out, you attack each other and then you just want to hold each other and make sure you never behave that way."

BRAD PITT AND CAST ATTEND 'FURY' WORLD PREMIERE IN WASHINGTON DC

It was a rainy night in Washington DC but that didn't keep the stars from coming out Wednesday (15 OCT. 2014) for the world premiere of "Fury."

Brad Pitt, Shia LaBeouf and the rest of the cast walked the red carpet and posed with World War II veterans.

Speaking at the event, Pitt explained the importance of telling this brutal account of war.

"I think that we're still living in very violent, chaotic times, times that we don't understand to the fullest," he said.

"It is considered a cleaner war, yet, again, my time with vets and men who were there at that time, they will tell you that the realities of the Geneva Convention couldn't come to play at the end there when they were deep into Germany. It was murkier. It was just murkier and certainly what was witnessed was every bit as awful as what's witnessed by our young men and women today."

Pitt plays a hardened Army sergeant named Wardaddy, who commands a five-man tank crew on a deadly mission into Nazi Germany after the allied invasion.

The 50-year-old actor saw no reason why his 13-year-old son Maddox shouldn't see the film, despite its realistic violence.

"My oldest son has seen it, yeah. My oldest son has seen it. He's a World War II buff," Pitt said.

He explained his rationale.

"I come from a different generation I guess as far as that's concerned," he said.

"My father would take us to the Drive-In as very young kids and we'd see Clint Eastwood movies and Kung Fu movies. I just have a different take on that. The world is a beautiful place, it's also a very violent place and we talk about it afterwards and I'm not so opposed."

LaBeouf looked past the violence and felt camaraderie with his cast mates.

"There's a lot of love in that tank, overwhelming love. I never had brothers, so it's wild to make that happen out of nowhere. Strangers turn into brothers in seven months. It's a trip," LaBeouf said.

That provided a better understanding of the bonds men make during war.

"It's unconditional love. Society doesn't really allow for men to unconditionally love one another unless you're at war," LaBeouf said.

LaBeouf - often tabloid fodder during the last year - was involved in an incident in June that began with getting ejected from the Broadway musical, "Cabaret," and ended with him spending the night in jail.

The actor isn't dwelling on the negative press though.

"It's fun to laugh about stuff," LaBeouf said.

Former "Walking Dead"' star Jon Bernthal feels it was necessary to make the film as real as possible to honor those that served during World War II.

"I think the goal here was to dive in as fully as possible. Look, what we get to do is we get to work under the umbrella of safety. We're trying to get as fair, as fresh and as real a taste of what life really would have been like for these guys, so we pushed ourselves to go to as dark a place as possible and to endure as much as possible and get as proficient on that tank as possible, so I'm proud for the commitment. I'm very proud of all these guys," Bernthal said.

David Ayer, who wrote and directed the film, admits he took a "white knuckle" approach when making the film.

"It was a brutal set, let's just say that. I mean these guys did a lot of work together. They trained together. They fought to together. They slept together. They ate together. They really bonded as brothers, so that chemistry on the screen is absolutely real. You bring the skill of the actor to that brotherhood and camaraderie they felt as real people. Nothing can beat that," Ayer said.

Logan Lerman plays the rookie of the bunch - and that wasn't just in the movie.

"I was the new guy every day so I got treated like that but the same time I went through everything that every one of these guys went through. We dedicated our whole year to this one movie, which is rare. We gave up four months in prep and we shot the movie for five months and gave one hundred percent of ourselves to the project and didn't hold back," he said.

Michael Pena confirmed that much of the physical interaction between the cast was real.

"We actually did spar for a month before that and you really get to know somebody when you spar with them. It's just one of those things. But it was a rough shoot for sure. It was very physical. Everybody wanted to do it for real and everybody had the same amount of dedication. They wanted this movie to really make sense and to be as good as it could be," Pena said.

ANGELINA JOLIE JOINS BRAD PITT IN TOKYO

Brad Pitt, accompanied by Angelina Jolie, made an appearance at the Japan premiere of his film "World War Z" on Monday (29 JULY 2013) welcomed by hundreds of fans in Tokyo.

They were joined on the red carpet by director Marc Forster.

"We just love coming here to Tokyo," Pitt told his fans.

"You guys are so good to us. We appreciate it. We hope you love the movie."

Brad Pitt's "World War Z" imagines a world overrun by a zombie pandemic, leading to an unlikely new global power structure.

Two of the few countries that have kept the zombies at bay are Israel, which shelters Israelis and Palestinians behind a wall, and North Korea, which has removed the teeth of its citizens to prevent zombie biting.

It's a curious portrait of geopolitics that's left some movie-goers scratching their heads.

Any whiff of foreign policy contemplation is snuffed out by the stampeding undead, who seem about as interested in politics as the average summer movie-goer.

The film is loosely based on Max Brooks' 2006 novel "World War Z: An Oral History of the Zombie War."

Modeled on Studs Terkel's Pulitzer Prize-winning "The Good War: An Oral History of World War II," Brooks' book is a collection of dispatches from around the globe years after a zombie outbreak.

Forster said it was a pleasure to work with Brad Pitt, who was also a producer on the film.

"You know as an actor he's very focused on the set," explained the director.

"He takes directions, does his thing and once basically the cameras stop rolling he becomes a producer but he's respectful in the process to me so it was a very positive collaboration."

Paramount Pictures is likely to develop a sequel to the apocalyptic zombie thriller.

The film was always intended to spawn a trilogy for Pitt, who stars as a United Nations inspector.

The film will be in theatres in Japan from August 10th.

MAN ARRESTED AT PREMIERE SAYS HE NEVER HIT PITT

The ex-journalist who was arrested after jostling with actor Brad Pitt at a film premiere last week said Monday (2 JUNE 2014) he was merely trying to give the actor a hug and didn't mean him any harm.

Vitalii Sediuk, a former Ukrainian television reporter, said he was in a fan area of the event that was open to the public when he went in to give the actor a hug. Sediuk, 25, has gained a reputation for outlandish pranks on red carpets in Moscow, Los Angeles and last month, at the Cannes Film Festival when he crawled underneath America Ferrera's dress at a film screening.
