The Paris kosher supermarket where four hostages were killed by Amedy Coulibaly on 9 January reopened to an eager clientele on Sunday.

Coulibaly killed four hostages in the attack on the Hyper Cacher on the edge of Paris, two days after the assault on the Charlie Hebdo newspaper by the Kouachi brothers which left 12 dead.

But on Sunday, a throng of shoppers pushed toward the doors to stock up on kosher products, particularly in preparation for the Jewish holiday of Passover in early April.

Laurent Mimoun, who owns the supermarket, took media down to the cellar to show the cold storage rooms where the hostages were hidden during the assault.

He told assembled media that the victims of the assault were the key motivation in reopening the shop.

Eric Cohen, the father of the one of those victims, Yohan, a young man who worked at the Hyper Cacher, is still reeling from the death of his son.

"Hate, anger, injustice" is how he described his feelings at the reopening.

France's Interior Minister meanwhile toured the shop ahead of the customers.

He told reporters that "we are determined to live freely in our country" and appealed for harmony and brotherhood, which he said would always trump violence.

Sunday's clients, meanwhile, seemed undeterred by the deadline events of two months ago.

Clutching her matzo purchased for Passover in early April, Annie Boukobza said she would not live in fear.

"We live here and now we are coming back to shop here again because this is where we used to come regularly and we are not afraid," she said.

Tens of thousands of Tunisians attended a march in their country's capital, Tunis, on Sunday to denounce extremist violence following the attack on the National Bardo Museum.

Waving Tunisian flags and carrying banners reading "Together against terrorism", the demonstrators marched through central Tunis, by the site of the deadly March 18 shooting that claimed twenty-two lives of mainly foreign tourists, as well as two gunmen.

French President Francois Hollande, Italian Prime Minister Matteo Renzi and several foreign ministers and legislators from other countries are joining an anti-terrorism ceremony in Tunis after the march.

The Tunisian government called on all major political parties to join the march from the seat of government at Bab Es-Saadoun to the museum.

Speaking on Sunday morning before heading to Tunisia, Hollande said it was important to show solidarity with Tunisia, which became the latest victim of extremist violence and was the country that led the Arab Spring revolt across the region.

As a result of the 2011 revolution, Tunisia built a democratic system, which was deeply shaken by the museum attack, for which the Islamic State group claimed responsibility.

On November 23rd, Prime Minister Charles Michel announced Brussels would remain at the highest alert level for a fourth consecutive day, but that schools and subways would reopen on Wednesday.

Michel said that decision was "a clear signal that we want to gradually return to normal life" and thanked the Belgian population for their understanding, noting that the country was facing an extremely difficult situation.

Two people have been arrested in Belgium on suspicion of planning attacks in Brussels during the holidays, the federal prosecutor's office said November 29th.

The investigation revealed "the threat of serious attacks that would target several emblematic places in Brussels and be committed during the end-of-year holidays," the prosecutor's office said.

A source close to the investigation said Grand Place, the Belgian capital's main square, thronged this time of year with holiday shoppers and strollers, was one of the suspected targets.

The two suspects, who the source said were male, were arrested following searches in the Brussels area, the Liege region and Flemish Brabant, the prosecutor's office said.

It did not disclose their names or further information about them.

The prosecutor's office said no additional details would be made public, but that the probe was not connected to the November 13th attacks in Paris, in which numerous suspects, including presumed ringleader Abdelhamid Abaaoud and fugitive Salah Abdeslam, had connections to Belgium.

Police and army patrols were greatly beefed up in Brussels following the Paris attacks.

Security officials themselves have been ordered to take special precautions to ensure their own safety, said the Belgian government's Crisis Centre.

"Of course we are scared, everyone is scared here. We are scared for our children, for ourselves, for our own lives. We are scared to take public transport," said Cathy Frederic, who works in Brussels.

On November 23rd, Prime Minister Charles Michel announced Brussels would remain at the highest alert level for a fourth consecutive day, but that schools and subways would reopen on Wednesday.

Michel said that decision was "a clear signal that we want to gradually return to normal life" and thanked the Belgian population for their understanding, noting that the country was facing an extremely difficult situation.

Two people have been arrested in Belgium on suspicion of planning attacks in Brussels during the holidays, the federal prosecutor's office said November 29th.

The investigation revealed "the threat of serious attacks that would target several emblematic places in Brussels and be committed during the end-of-year holidays," the prosecutor's office said.

A source close to the investigation said Grand Place, the Belgian capital's main square, thronged this time of year with holiday shoppers and strollers, was one of the suspected targets.

The two suspects, who the source said were male, were arrested following searches in the Brussels area, the Liege region and Flemish Brabant, the prosecutor's office said.

It did not disclose their names or further information about them.

The prosecutor's office said no additional details would be made public, but that the probe was not connected to the November 13th attacks in Paris, in which numerous suspects, including presumed ringleader Abdelhamid Abaaoud and fugitive Salah Abdeslam, had connections to Belgium.

Police and army patrols were greatly beefed up in Brussels following the Paris attacks.

Security officials themselves have been ordered to take special precautions to ensure their own safety, said the Belgian government's Crisis Centre.

The Berlin landmark is situated just a few metres from the French embassy where crowds had gathered to lay tributes to the victims.

Monuments and buildings throughout the world were flooded with the colours of the French tricolour over the days and weeks after the Paris attacks

The Islamic State group has claimed responsibility.

Britain's Prime Minister David said on Thursday that the police shooting in Belgium of two people suspected of plotting an attack shows Europe faces a huge threat from Islamic extremism.

"We have to remain extremely vigilant and that we have to take all the steps that we can to beat this evil," he said.

Cameron also said he had seen images on the internet of the latest issue of French satirical newspaper Charlie Hebdo.

"There should never be the case of a politician or prime minister telling a newspaper or magazine to publish something, or not to publish something, they are free to publish what they want within the law," he said.

Cameron attended a discussion on the global economy with International Monetary Fund managing director Christine Lagarde, and met United States President Barack Obama at the White House.

The two are expected to meet in the Oval Office on Friday.

Hillary Clinton may become the president of Israel's most important ally, but her image is banished from a significant swathe of the country's media: the ultra-Orthodox press whose deeply conservative readership dislikes images of women.

Clinton's nomination as Democratic candidate for the US presidency is casting light on a longstanding policy that has already applied to other female figures from Germany's Angela Merkel to Israel's own prime minister Golda Meir.

But whereas the election is causing some discussion among US ultra-Orthodox media, their Israeli equivalents are digging in their heels.

"Pictures of women cannot be shown in news media," said Meni Shwartz, editor of the ultra-Orthodox news site BeHadrei Haredim.

"We follow that line because of a desire to preserve the world of content and conservatism of our target audience."

About 11 percent of Israel's 8.5 million citizens are haredi, or ultra-Orthodox.

Recognizable by their black hats and long black clothes, they often lead insular lives, separated from the more secular Jewish majority and closely adhering to Jewish laws.

Ultra-Orthodox women traditionally dress in long skirts and long-sleeved shirts, covering their hair if they are married.

Men and women sit separately at synagogues and weddings and unrelated women and men refrain from physical contact.

Ultra-Orthodox media, which include four daily newspapers, two main weeklies and two main web sites, cater to conservative ideals that include preserving women's modesty and skipping topics involving drugs, murder and sex.

Many consider showing pictures of women a violation of those values, however newsworthy the figure.

So haredi media use pictures of the White House, Democratic running mate Tim Kaine or even Bill Clinton instead of showing Hillary's face.

The issue sparked discussion in Israel this year when Yated Neeman, the largest ultra-Orthodox daily, published a story about Clinton's choice of Kaine as her running mate, accompanied by a photograph of Clinton's husband.

Popular haredi newspaper Hamevaser achieved notoriety when it edited German Chancellor Angela Merkel out of a picture of world leaders marching through Paris after extremists attacked the offices of the satirical Charlie Hebdo magazine in 2015.

Hamodia, a veteran ultra-Orthodox paper, is the only current haredi daily that existed during the administration of Meir, Israel's only female prime minister.

A reporter there said that at the time, in the early 1970s, the newspaper did not publish her picture.

BeHadrei Haredim, headquartered in the ultra-Orthodox enclave of Bnei Brak near Tel Aviv, walks a tight line between conservative ideals and the modern essence of being online.

Shwartz, the editor, said he gets about 1 million unique visits to the site a month, with users coming from Israel and around the world.

The only photographs of women are in a section called "women's lobby," which focuses on cooking, motherhood and lifestyle.

Users entering this area are warned that only women should proceed.

Atara Sternbuch, an observant woman who runs the site's English section, said the lack of women's pictures on the main site is "just not an issue."

She said people who want to see pictures of Hillary Clinton can search elsewhere.

"We want to make it comfortable to our readers who don't want to be exposed to that," she said.

American ultra-Orthodox media have traditionally shied away from publishing women's pictures as well.

But the prospect of a Clinton presidency is stirring some debate.

One newspaper recently broke a taboo by publishing a picture of Hillary Clinton's hand.

Rabbi Yitzchok Frankfurter, editor of the weekly Ami Magazine in New York, said he would consider printing Clinton's photograph if rabbinical authorities allow it.

Sheldon Schorer, former chairman of Democrats Abroad Israel, derided the policy of excluding women's pictures and said it put Clinton at a disadvantage.
