The wooden fence going through this village in the first years, was replaced in 1957 by a barbed wire fence. The school E.G. is in the East German zone, the schoolchildren of this side of the iron curtain must go to a school in a nearby village Toepen. Vehicle comes to a halt in the middle of the Autobahn bridge over the Saale river near Sachsenvorwerk. The bridge was blown up towards the end of the war. Since it forms the border, it has not been reconstructed. Shot down on to rubble of blown up bridge - rubble lying around for the past 16 years.
