STORYLINE

WIFE OF 'HUNTSMAN' DIRECTOR RUPERT SANDERS IS 'FOLLOWING HER HEART' POST-SPLIT

Liberty Ross says she's still lying low after her very public split from her husband, director Rupert Sanders.

Sitting front row Saturday at Alexander Wang's New York Fashion Week show, the model-actress said the key to moving forward is "keeping her head down" and "listening to her heart."

Ross filed for divorce in January, five months after news broke that Sanders had an affair with Kristen Stewart.

Sanders directed both Stewart and Ross in "Snow White and the Huntsman."

Ross, who walked in Wang's last runway show in September, said her top priority remains her children, 6-year-old Tennyson and 8-year-old Skyla.

These days she's taking her fashion cues from her daughter, who's already been bitten by the fashion bug.

"(She's) the coolest chick I know," said Ross.

With buzz and anticipation building for his debut collection for Balenciaga, Wang used his own show to make the statement that his signature line is still very much on his mind.

The collection of finely tailored pieces in luxe and lush textured fabrics seemed elevated from the more casual and funky styles he's turned out the past few seasons, although there was the sportswear twist he is best known for woven into every look. It was a sophisticated turn - and trick - to pull off.

The song "Eye of the Tiger" of "Rocky III" fame was the underlying theme music as the models stepped onto the runway in the lobby of the ornate Cunard Building at the southern tip of Manhattan. (It was a drastic change in vibe from the airplane-hanger feel of the pier he had shown in for years that now is hosting the Westminster Dog Show.)

The catwalkers wore fur boxing gloves and hoods, with an opening for their ponytails, wrapped tightly around their heads, and fuzzy footwear. Sweatshirt-style tops were made of mohair with a touch of metallic, and fur had a burnout effect. He said he "disguised" some of the richest fabrics by brushing them, re-embroidering them and mixing them to make them modern.

If you're going to do the fairytale now and make it effective you need to put her in a really dangerous world and see if she can survive and I think we do a pretty good job at doing that."

"It was cool. I've been wanting to do something really physical for a long time and anytime you can see genuine discomfort on screen, that's not being faked. I really killed myself on this movie and I think anytime you see Chris being freezing or like uncomfortable and looking like he's afraid he probably is because he's a total baby. No he's not."

SOUNDBITE (English) Chris Hemsworth, actor:

"Yeah. He's a dirty, rough, drunken pained individual. He's been through some trauma and is trying to claw his way back into society and Snow White happens to relight that in him, and the Queen as well for different reasons, but it was a wonderful film, you know. Epic. Much larger and visual than anything we'd seen before of this particular story."

"I don't know. I saw just great potential in this retelling and this character and changing it up and doing something where we kind of shake it and turn it on it's head and I thought this world that we created in telling this story was really, really interesting and good."

Reporter: "She's so evil though. She doesn't crack a smile at any point."

Theron: "She's a bit tragic. I feel sorry for her. She has no love. We should be nice to her."

Winstone: "With some mates and with some people that are geniuses in the prosthetics department, on the camera side and as a crew, you know. It was great."
