The remains of nine more victims of the Malaysia Airlines Flight 17 tragedy were brought back to Malaysia for burial on Tuesday.

The nine included seven Malaysian citizens and two Dutch nationals, who will be buried near Kuala Lumpur as requested by their next of kin.

Honour guards escorted the coffins, draped in Malaysian flags, from the Malaysian Airlines plane into special hearses to be sent to their respected burial places.

It's expected that these were the last bodies to be repatriated to Malaysia from Amsterdam.

The remaining Malaysian passengers are still classified as missing.

All 298 people on board died when the plane heading to Kuala Lumpur from Amsterdam was shot down on July 17 over an area controlled by pro-Russia separatists in eastern Ukraine.

An international investigation is ongoing, but no one has been arrested.

Passengers continued to check in for Malaysia Airlines flights out of Kuala Lumpur International Airport on Saturday, two days after the state-owned company was hit by a second disaster in quick succession.

Malaysia Airlines Flight 17 was downed over eastern Ukraine on Thursday with 298 people aboard by what US intelligence authorities believe was a surface-to-air missile.

Just four months earlier, a Malaysia Airlines jetliner carrying 239 people disappeared about an hour after taking off from Kuala Lumpur International Airport.

Adham Qalid, a Malaysian Airlines pilot at Kuala Lumpur airport said that he believed that the plane flew according to the flight plan which was "approved by the authorised bodies".

Passengers getting on a Malaysia Airlines flight to Brisbane showed little concern about their trip on Saturday but did express outrage at the attack.

"Well, it's just poor and it's murder. It's absolute murder," said passenger Kevin Squire.

The accident also killed a group of AIDS (Acquired Immunodeficiency Syndrome) experts heading to Australia for an international AIDS conference.

The International Civil Aviation Organisation said in a news release on Friday night that it would send a team to Ukraine at the request of the Ukrainian government to assist in the official investigation into the downed plane.

Three days after a Malaysia Airlines jet headed to the country's capital was shot down over rebel-held eastern Ukraine, it was business as usual on Sunday at Kuala Lumpur International Airport.

Lines of passengers stretched over several meters (yards) at the Malaysia Airlines counter.

Jo Boehler, an English passenger waiting for her flight back to London, said the downing of Malaysia Airlines flight MH17 "was a case of mistaken identity."

She also added that people should carry on flying.

Another traveller, Mr. Sze, who was accompanying his daughter about to fly to Brisbane, Australia, for her studies, said he believes that with international help the investigation into the downing will be conducted "in a proper way."

Meanwhile in Ukraine, international monitors moved gingerly on Saturday through fields reeking of the decomposing corpses that fell from the Malaysian airliner, trying to secure the sprawling site in hopes that a credible investigation can be conducted.

But before inspectors ever reach the scene, doubts arose about whether evidence was being compromised.

The Ukrainian government and separatist rebels accuse each other of firing a surface-to-air missile at the Boeing 777 with almost 300 people aboard.

Many see the hand of Russia, either for its suspected support of the insurgents or perhaps for firing the missile itself.

The jet flying from Amsterdam to Kuala Lumpur carried 298 passengers and crew from 13 countries.

Malaysian Airline officials led prayers on Tuesday for the victims of the twin tragedies involving flights MH370 and MH17.

The ceremony was held near the company's training centre in Petaling Jaya.

The session was attended by airline staff and officials, including the Malaysian Airlines Chief Executive, Ahmad Jauhari.

According to the airline's head of Strategic Communications Najmuddin Abdullah, staff have shown a great deal of resilience following the two disasters.

He told AP Television "we are always ready to lend any form of support towards each other."

Flight MH370 vanished on 8 March while en route from Kuala Lumpur to Beijing with 239 people on board.

Despite a multinational search effort, the whereabouts of Flight MH370 are still a mystery.

Almost a year since Malaysia Airlines flight 370 disappeared, Jacquita Gomes is still hoping that her husband will return.

Patrick Gomes was the inflight supervisor when the plane with 239 people on board disappeared on 8 March, 2014.

His wife now draws comfort from contact with relatives of other lost passengers and crew via the instant messaging service WhatsApp.

Online she's known as "the boss," reflecting her husband's role on the flight.

Reminders of Patrick Gomes are everywhere in her house in the Malaysian city of Petaling Jaya, near the capital Kuala Lumpur.

An embroidered picture of a horse, bought in Istanbul just after they got married nearly 30 years ago, hangs on the wall.

His old, worn out luggage case is in the store room.

Jacquita Gomes insists that the search for the missing plane must not stop until some evidence is found to suggest where the plane is.

On March 8, 2014, Malaysia Airlines Flight 370 took off for Kuala Lumpur on a flight to Beijing, turned off course and disappeared.

Its fate, and that of the people on board, may be aviation's most agonizing and perplexing mystery.

Although investigators say that the plane is in the southern Indian Ocean, they are yet to find any debris or concrete evidence.

Malaysia's defence minister said on Monday that the remains of nine more victims of Malaysia Airlines Flight 17 will be brought back to Malaysia for burial on Tuesday.

Malaysia's government on Sunday asked for help from nearly a dozen Asian countries that the missing jetliner may have flown over, saying that finding the plane would be very difficult without additional data on its final movements.

The number of countries involved in the search and rescue operation has increased from 14 to 25, the Malaysian Acting Transport Minister told a news conference in Sepang, near Kuala Lumpur, on Sunday.

"Malaysian officials are requesting support from these countries as well as others. This support includes general satellite data, radar playback both primary and secondary, provisions for ground, sea and aerial search and assets as appropriate," said Hishammuddin Hussein, Malaysian Acting Transport Minister during the news conference.

Meanwhile, police were examining a flight simulator belonging to one of the pilots of the Malaysia Airlines plane, which went missing more than a week ago with 239 passengers aboard a flight from Kuala Lumpur to Beijing.

"We took position of a simulator (from one of the pilots' house), of a flight simulator and we dismantled it from the home and we assembled it at our office and we are getting experts to look at it now," said Khalid Abu Bakar, Malaysia Inspector-General of Police Khalid Abu Bakar, during the same news conference.

The search area has been expanded after satellite data has shown that after losing contact with air traffic controllers, the plane could have kept flying as far north as Kazakhstan in Central Asia or deep into the southern Indian Ocean, posing awesome challenges for efforts to recover the aircraft and flight data recorders

vital to solving the mystery of what happened on board.

Meanwhile, at Kuala Lumpur International Airport, people wrote tributes on a large banner expressing hope for a safe return home of the passengers of the missing Malaysia Airlines flight MH370.

Confirmation Saturday that someone on board severed the communication links with the ground and flew off course for more than six hours has triggered a formal criminal investigation into who on the plane was involved, and what motive they might have for doing so.

Malaysian authorities have not ruled out any possibilities, and to establish what happened with any degree of certainty investigators will likely need to examine information, including cockpit voice recordings, from the plane's flight data recorders should the jet be located.

Malaysian officials and aviation experts said that whoever disabled the plane's communication systems and then flew the jet must have had a high degree of technical knowledge and flying experience, putting one or both of the pilots high on the list of possible suspects.

Police officers visited the houses of pilots of the missing Malaysia Airlines plane on Saturday, as the investigation over the jetliner's whereabouts changed focus following a revelation it was deliberately diverted and continued flying for more than six hours after losing contact with the ground.

Malaysian Prime Minister Najib Razak confirmed after days of mounting speculation that the disappearance of the MH370 flight to Beijing more than a week ago was not accidental.

It refocused the investigation into the flight's crew and passengers, and underlined the massive task for searchers who already have been scouring vast areas of ocean.

Investigators were looking into all possibilities as to why the Boeing 777 deviated so drastically from its original flight path, saying authorities could not confirm whether it was a hijacking.

Earlier on Saturday, a Malaysian official had said the plane was hijacked, though he added that no motive had been established and no demands had been made known.

Pilots Zaharie Ahmad Shah, 53, and Fariq Abdul Hamid were described as respectable, community-minded men.

Zaharie joined Malaysia Airlines in 1981 and had more than 18,000 hours of experience.

His Facebook page showed an aviation enthusiast who flew remote-controlled aircraft, posting pictures of his collection, which included a lightweight twin-engine helicopter and an amphibious aircraft.

Fariq was contemplating marriage after having just graduated to the cockpit of a Boeing 777.

He has drawn scrutiny after the revelation that in 2011, he and another pilot invited two women aboard their aircraft to sit in the cockpit for a flight from Phuket, Thailand, to Kuala Lumpur.

Fourteen countries are involved in the search, which is using 43 ships and 58 aircraft.

The plane was carrying 239 people when it departed for an overnight flight from Kuala Lumpur to Beijing at 12:40am (local time, 16:30 GMT) on 8 March.

Its communications with civilian air controllers were severed at about 1:20am (local time, 17:20 GMT) and the jet went missing - heralding one of the most puzzling mysteries in modern aviation history.
