The number of confirmed dead in the ferry that sank off South Korea rose to 32 on Saturday, according to the coast guard.

Another 300 people remain missing.

Divers know at least some bodies remain inside the vessel, but they have been unable to get inside.

Ko Myung-seok, the Director-General of Equipment & Technology Bureau at Korea Coast, told reporters on Saturday that the body of a woman was found earlier that morning.

The last three bodies recovered were all women wearing life vests and coast guard officials were describing what the women were wearing to families in order to help identify them.

Ko said 176 ships and 28 planes were mobilised to search the area around the sunken ship Saturday, and that more than 650 divers were trying to search the interior of the ship.

A second boat carrying bodies arrived at Paengmok Port, Jindo on Monday as divers continued their search of the sunken South Korean ferry.

Sixty-one bodies have been recovered so far, and about 240 people are still missing.

At a press conference, Park Seung-gee, a South Korean government spokesman, said they were putting into place measures to make it easier for families to collect the bodies of their loved ones.

He also said they would be prepare additional funding for the search and recovery operation if needed.

The ferry sank on Wednesday with 476 people on board, many of them students from a single high school.

The official death toll from the sunken South Korean ferry now stands at 104 after more ships carrying bodies recovered from the vessel arrived at Paengmok Port on Tuesday.

Nearly 200 people are still missing, many of them students from a single high school, in Ansan near Seoul, who were on their way to the southern tourist island of Jeju.

The bodies arriving at Paengmok Port on Jindo Island are driven in ambulances to two tents: one for men and boys, the other for women and girls.

If a body lacks identification, details such as height, hair length and clothing are posted on a white signboard for families waiting on Jindo island for news.

Ko Myung-suk, Director General of the Equipment & Technology Bureau at Korea Coast Guard, said rescue teams were trying to break into the ship's dining hall as part of the next phase of the search operation.

Parents of passengers on board the ship on Tuesday issued a letter of appeal to the government, urging it to speed up the rescue process.

Many families of the missing are staying in a makeshift shelter set up at a gymnasium on Jindo Island.

The cause of the disaster is not yet known, but prosecutors have said the ship made a sharp turn before it began to list.
